Installed Harlan Shift Light (Pics)

Well I followed Cheston's directions for the autometer and made some changes of my own for the Harlan Shift light. On the back of the guages, I put a wire on the IGN screw, the TAM screw and the GND screw. Basically all of the wires are in a line, no cutting. I don't like cutting into my car. Very easy install, didn't take long at all. The supplied wire was just long enough to mount it on my steering column. Programming it was simple too.

The shiftlight comes with a spreadsheet of DIP switch settings on the circuit board you set on the shiftlight inside the tube from 500 to 12000 in 100 RPM increments. You set the RPM setting and the amount of cylinders in the engine and you are all set. You can find the shiftlight below. Mines set for 6200 and it works great.

Yup, its easy to install and great.... I used it for the EXACT reason you mentioned....keeping from bumping rev-lim. Done its jobe. Set it to 6200 and I am golden.

Although I made a custom mount and put it up by the rearview...You cant see it from outside the car.
