5.5 gen for $1k worth it? need opinions, i wanna buy it

here's what it is http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/m...ationFlag=true

i already emailed him saying i want to see it but that misfire has me a little worried. first of all i don't think they're using 91 octane, its a fair assumption since most people dont know and/or cheap out. could also just be a coil plug i guess, no?
second, its 9 months worth of that so i'm wondering if thats gonna give birth to a problem in the form of needing a new engine or is it worth taking and fixing (still salvageable?). interior looks pretty good and the mileage isn't very high (140k mi). its a bit rusty near the rear wheel wells and wondering if thats fixable, now that i have time and space to work on it since i have a beater it seems much more possible.

it seems worth it considering its only a stack, comes with 2 sets of rims and tires (both i could sell, i still have my 03 wheels). i'll check it out tomorrow and get better pics of that rust but in the mean time can anyone give me an opinion?

I think that is a good deal. Seems like the car is in good shape and has tons of options. And it is 6 speed, most importantly. The misfire is probably something simple, either a spark plug or coil pack. You can buy used coil for dirt cheap. Cylinder 2 is only on the front, so it will be easy to change plug/coil if needed. I say go for it!

worth it if you have the room. Advertised for a grand but they would likely take 800-900 I would imagine. Even if you just parted it out you would easily make your money back. If you're keeping it it'd need some work to clean up but for a few grand you'd still have a good deal.

Negotiate and buy! Could be camshaft position sensors both banks on mine went bad one after the other. Didn't throw codes until they really went.

Worst case scenario you've got no compression in that cylinder and will need a new motor.

Normal scenario you've got an issue with coilpacks or injectors that's killing that cylinder.

I checked the link out seem promising however kind of a risk to take since the owner mention he has been driving the car for 9 months with the engine light on with misfiring, possibly in the long term damage he probably could cause is the cat converter. Ask if you can have it professionally checked by mechanic, especially misfire one to see if there a dead cylinder, by doing a compression test

100 % worth it. You can always clean it up. Fix the misfire, throw ur rims on it and sell it for at least 3

Drive it and make sure the clutch dont slip.

I'm tempted to call in sick to work and drive from Wisconsin to buy it. That's how much you should buy it, before I look to see how much sick time I have.
