1997 Maxima SE FUEL LEAK

gas leak leaking on the right front side undercarriage when I start my engine. It looks like it is coming from under the plenum, because I had a charcoal grenade went off and had to buy a new charcoal canister as well as had the whole emission line blew out and every other lines except the egr valve and now I am getting also p01447 codes. Can this come from my wife putting in a whole can of gas additive from Walmart on a empty tank of gas and only put in 10 dollars worth of gas instead of a fill up.
My mechanic said it can make the gas thick and mess up the fuel injectors or sensors because of the type of additive and only with ten dollars of gas.
WHAT CAN I DO NEED HELP

First of all, stop panicking. The gasoline leak and the P1447 code are most likely separate problems, but both need to be looked at. I always consider leaking gasoline as a more serious problem.

You have gasoline leaking on the passenger side of the car? In the world of automobiles, left and right is based on when you are sitting inside of the car. That makes the passenger side the right side and the driver's side the left side.

So assuming you mean you have the gas leaking on the driver's side, you need to check where the leak is coming from. Since the car uses metal lines to get the gas from the rear to the front of the car, you most likely have a leaking flexible hose. The first two I would check are the ones that connect to your fuel filter. I would also check the fuel return line from the FPR )fuel pressure regulator) as well as any other rubber hose that is on the car. When you get this solved, we'll tackle the P1447 code. This could also be a rubber hose back by the charcoal canister.

As for the gasoline additive thing - this did NOTHING to your car. It did nothing bad and it did nothing good. Don't ever waste your money on that stuff again and find a new mechanic.

Thanks

I really appreciate the info and the fuel filter lines are fine but it is coming from the passenger but it might be the rubber hose that might be erroded. will check abd the injectos O-ring they are fine.

The hose that is leaking is most likely the hose that connects the rear fuel rail to the front fuel rail. It is right under the intake manifold on the passneger side of the car. I dont see how it would leak to the ground though because most likely it would drip onto the lower intake runners. The hose is subjected to a ton of heating then cooling cycles so this is most likely the hose at fault. These are different fuel rails pictured but you have the same set-up. See the rubber hose at the top?
