Looking to buy an 02 6/spd SE
Ive been looking for some decent for a DD and keep the miles down on our other cars since we drive quite a bit. I found this one with 168k, waiting on the vin but everything seemed legit from the seller untill i noticed these photos. Seems to me like the rear seat belts dont match and I think the center console is the wrong color. I have not seen it in person but the asking price is 3500 which is one the cheapest ive seen on craiglist in my area.
Let me know what you guys think?

Where is this maxima? I think its a great deal. The seats and door panels are changed like stated above, which makes me think the guy cared about his car. It looks in good condition. If this car was close to me I would buy it.

Makes me think its a theft recovery/salvage title..... I guess the carfax/autocheck will tell. Ill see what kind of story the seller has tommorow.

A Carfax report only does so much. It only reports things from shops that report them. If the car was fixed at home or at a shady place were it was fixed cash under the table, what problems it had won't be on the Carfax.

That might be stretching it a bit far. People change up stuff to their own tastes all the time. This isn't the first Max or other car i've seen that's had interior changes done.

Anything's possible when buying a used car. Take a friend with you and check it out to the best of your abilities. No used car is perfect, unless it's only a couple of years old and has low miles and was garage kept. As long as you go into it knowing that it is an older car that may need work done to it is your best bet. If it's a private seller, them having receipts and repair orders to maintenance done is a big plus.
