Search around Z/G enthusiast websites... They tend to make more videos...

I've heard a 4th gen with S1 cams and if he didnt tell me he had them I would have never known. Also I've heard Jaypee99's 5.5 gen with BC stage 2 cams and the cam lope and very subtle. You'd have to really be listening for it to hear it.

Yeah Iron Lung's car would be the best example. He has dynos as well.

On stock ECU, auto, stock rev limit, he picked up 23whp with the JWT S1, 256s.

There are tons of Z and G videos with cams out there... but they generally won't sound like a Maxima since they run different headers and often have dual exhausts.

As far as I know, Jay_pee doesn't make any videos aside from others catching him at the track sometimes. With the BC S2 and the cattman 3", you would probably have a very hard time identifying any lope. Unless you can play with intake VTC and advance it a little at idle....

i saw that gold 4th gen on you tube i heard it with the full exhaust and the electric dump closed and, like most of you have mentioned, you cant really tell it has a set of cams. i wonder if the power gains of just the cams are worth the money

Peak gains aren't amazing... 15-20whp for a "normal" 260-264ish and 10.5-10.8 lift. However, It's gains under the curve by extending the power band after peak that make cams worth it.

so basically without a tune, and a 00vi you wont see much especially with the factory rev limit cams are not a cheap upgrade

Same with my JWT S1.

It would be pretty stupid to do cams before finishing all the other important NA mods... Tuning device being one of the most important. The 00VI is fine, though.

Lol there's no reason to get titanium valves and valve springs when stock valves with HR valve springs/retainers are fine up to 8k+ RPMs. Port and polish on the heads is a $2000+ job that can actually lose power on a mild setup such as my own (tested and proven thanks to SG motorsports, their 347whp dynos were done with stock heads). Also, installing cams and valvesprings alone does not require removing the heads. Installing valves and getting headwork done is much more total work and downtime.

ARP rod bolts, Revup oil pump, and HR springs/retainers (double shimmed) = the way to go along with cams for a safe 7500ish RPM build not including internals. With proper balancing, 8000+. As Dandymax has proven, going upwards of 8000 rpms on a stock balanced rotating assembly can cause shattered oil pumps so I'll probably be aiming for a rev limit around 7500-7600 depending on what's optimal for my shift points. Guess I'll leave 2-3whp on the table by keeping the stock harmonic balancer crank pulley also, especially since I already have an aluminum flywheel instead of the dual mass stocker.

Rod bolts are a problem earlier than valve springs (7100-7200), but both are needed to safely rev to 7500.

This is the setup my girls max will be running next season. She's shooting for 12's with the EU tuned.
