XENON HID issue

I recently put Xenon HID's in my Max and they worked great for 4 months or so. Not until today I realized my driver side bulb was out. So I turned my lights off then back on and noticed the bulb tried firing for a split second, but didnt come on. I turned the lights off an on a few times then the bulb stayed lit. this has happened twice today. Any ideas on what it may be? If it were the bulb, it wouldnt try firing at all...correct?

Yea, if it was the bulb it wouldnt work at all. When I had HIDs in my explorer I had that same problem. Turned out the ballast was going out from being left on "auto".
The best solution is to make sure you are using a relay, replace the ballast, and dont use the "auto" function on the headlights.

bad ballast most likely. if changing the bulbs doens't fix it,and it shouldn't new ballast time. I'd just buy a set of 55w HIDs and replace them both fwiw.

Swap the bulbs from side to side, and go from there.

Did you touch the HID bulb???? You cannot touch the tips of these HID's when being installed. It has some type of material that can crack easily like if it was powdery
