Eletircal expert needed please!

I have some interior leds that I added as courtesy lights, when the circuit is closed, its still bleeding out around 2.4volts to my leds, which is not enough to light an incandescent bulb, but is giving the led a very very low amount of light output (when it should be off), How can i stop the 2.4v from reaching the leds?

Why not just put the switch the ground as opposed to he 12v side?

You just need a lead with a bigger resistor. It should cost you a total of maybe $4 from Radioshack.

I understand LED's but I don't understand your post. Can you put up a schematic of your circuit?

Adding a larger resistor will only decrease current flow through the LED... meaning unless it is sufficiently large the LED will still have a glow even if very faint.

Alternatively you can also add several diodes in series such that the turn on voltage is higher than whatever the 2.4 volts you are talking about.

+1...What type of switch are you using? You don't have it on a rheostat do you? Where Are you tapping off for you 12v?
