So I went to the junkyard today

A few months ago (june-july) I bought a nissan maxima SE 2000. My car was awesome. I had it painted so there were no scratches at all. It only had 103,xxx km when I got it. loved my car.
I had the car for about 23 days when I got rear ended (107,XXX km). I was so mad because the guy that rear ended me (asian driver yeah go figure) was driving a mazda 3 series and his car had no damage but a few scratches in the bumper while my car the rear fender was bent so badly that it was rubbing against the wheel. Insurance declaired my car a total loss and paid me a lot more than what I had paid for it. (I paid $6500 they paid me about $9500 + $400 to be used a dealership for buying a new car)
Because I really liked my car and I had it for so little time, I went out and bought myself another maxima.
They are so hard to find in my area (vancouver, bc) but I finally came across one that was worth it for me.
I found a 2002 gxe maxima with no accidents and of course low mileage (73,000km) I paid $7900
There were a few things I didn't like about my car but I could live with. like the rims, cloth interior, and no bose
Recently I switched my rims to 350z rims (I paid $340 with tires)
I went to the junkyard today to look for bose speakers, and possibly leather interior and guess what I came accross?
I found my old baby!!!
I was so happy I had been re-united with my baby once more. The engine and tranny were missing along with some other things but it was still my baby.
I would have bought the seats again but the idiots had deployed the side airbag on the driver seat so I didn't want them. Instead I just picked up the bose speakers (the whole set for $50)
I found it so weird that I came across my car because the accident happened about 2 citys away and I was so surprised that my baby was sitting in the city I live in.
I think I will always love that maxima lol. I just needed to vent a little bit

How sweet, really.

I will never get the 30 seconds of time back that I just wasted reading that post.

Get over it dude.

Good to see you got to see your baby. I still haven't taken my first car to the junkyard. Need to get to it so I can get a little bit of Xmas money.

On a similar note, I used to have a 1992 Acura Legend that I traded in on a 2005 Scion tC. A few weeks later I came across it at a used car lot near the airport.

FAIL. Why waste your money putting bose into a NON bose car? Why would you do that? You'd be much much much better off putting aftermarket it. If you got the speakers, I hope you got the amp and headunit as well, or else it won't work with your non-bose head-unit.

+1, i failed by buying aftermarket speakers for my 3rd gen, and they didnt work. forgot it had to be Bose. unless you have the amp to switch TO Bose, fail

Oh man that sucks!

Thats funny because I got backed up into by a white guy and I am Asian... I guess I am one of those rare drivers. So my story was opposite of yours, LOL. But yeah fender still dented, and too lazy to replace

I am still mad! Grrr... I am still pissed at the decision of the other guys insurance company, apparently you are NOT supposed to stop in store parking lots and its okay for someone to not look when backing out

Luckily the damage was only at the fender, I mean that guy was a MILLIMETER away from my door, the part of his car that hit me stopped exactly at the gap between the fender and the door. So I don't have to fix my door, thank God!

There is no way an insurance company would pay out $10k for a 2000 Maxima....no way. And who cares if he said an Asian hit him. you friggin bleed hearts need to get thicker skin you weak sob's.

i guess u can call that FATE. also i sorta agree w/ aemaxima01. u shpuld have pushed some after market ones maybe like a single 12 or so. i had my bose sub for quite a while but thought it wasnt really banging. so i guted out the bose sub and layed a nice layer of dynomat with a custom box to fit the back of the trunk with 2 12"pioneers premier. man o man did they sound nice, way nicer than the bose. but thats just to my taste.
