Is my dealer scamming me?

Is my dealer scamming me?
I leased a 2010 Maxima Premium + Tech w/ splash guards and spoiler.
I put 3500 down and got a 500 credit which brought the lease payment to 460.32 for 39 months.
I took the vehicle home and after a week they called me back, Friday at 1pm. They said:
"We need you to come back and finish up some paperwork"
I asked "What is my green slip ready?"
"No, we need to you fill out paper to BUY this vehicle"
I said "What do you mean"
"The leasing company will not finance you since you have that other car loan in your name, we need our car back by monday"
I said "Wait a minute, I need more time than monday to deal with this, I can get it out of my name"
"Well you can just go and pay it in full"
I said "I can't just pay it off in full, I need to transfer ownership, and I need at least till next Friday"
"Well I can't authorize that myself I have to talk with my manager"
Click
The person sounded rather flustered during this conversation, almost yelling at me!
So I immediately starting the process of transferring this other car out of my name (2003 Nissan Sentra, $9,000 balance left). I left work early, and called my fiance out of work so that I could refinance the car in her name. I will hear the final word on Monday, it *might* not go through.
Today I noticed that my lease agreement is NOT signed by them, and I have now put 800 miles on the car.
I don't appreciate doing a deal and having the dealership renege a week later. They said it would take a couple days for the lease loan to go through, but it should be "no problem". I have a 760 credit score and my income is 120k a year (which they didn't even verify).
I am wondering if they are just trying to scam me, or the person that made the deal got an *** chewing for some reason.
What should I do? Buying the car is not out of the question, but I would definitely obtain my own financing before I set foot in the dealership.

Tell them to give you all of your money back, and you'll bring the car back to them. Then go shopping somewhere else.
They are the one's that messed this deal up, they can deal with the 800 miles on the car.
Get your cash back!

They let you drive off with a new car without actually having the lease approved by the bank? That sounds extreamly odd, to the point of actually being alarming! I wouldn't bring the car back, I'd do some investigating first and I'd def. give my lawyer a call for advise.

you make $120k and you owe 9k on a car that should've been paid off 2 years ago, if bought new? I do believe you make that much, I just don't get why you owe so much on a car that is now worth half that?

Simple answer, its my fiancee's car and she is making the payments. I was going to transfer it to her name after 3 years to help her credit and mine.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have worked out that I could purchase the car for $100 more than I am paying for my lease, so I am going to take this opportunity to get out of my supposed lease.
At first I thought leasing was a good idea, but I can clearly see that with a car I love to drive, 12000 miles a year is not enough.
My plan is to obtain my own financing and show up there with a check. If they give me any crap I am just going to give it back to them and buy somewhere else, and charge back my down payment.

That is all the games they play. I would say get your money back and go somewhere else. This is a buyers market! Dealerships are looking for buyers.
Your income and credit score should make you very atractive to the dealerships. They should rollover to sell you a car. Men, I have all the numbers to all the dealerships within 60 miles of me! Do same. Just call the next dealership and tell them what you want and they will call you back pronto! They might even call this deearship and get you that same car. Don't take crap like this from people who act like you cannot afford or pay for the car. Why would they let you take a lease-car home if all paperwork is not done?
And yes, wach your interest rate!

Also from my experience if you go through a companies internet sales division(or whatever nissan dealerships call it) from their dealer site, you can sometimes get a better deal. We did that when we were helping my mother shop for the 2006 4runner she now has, with the options she wanted. We got it several thousand cheaper than some of the dealerships we went to in person.

Well I tried to get financing from bank of america on my own, and they would only do 25k total because of my sentra. Wells fargo also has a problem with that sentra. I'm wordering if lenders are just being really tight asses these days. I'm going to try a few more places, but this is getting tiring.
The dealer offered me 5.79 apr through wachovia which I think is pretty good. I have until Thursday.

I still don't see the deal with that sentra.
Income 120k, FICO 760, is enough to get you a loan of 9000 plus 36000 with no downpayment! Except, honestly, your debt-to-income ratio is quite high or atleast they balance out.
I don't want to give all my details, but my situation was way different than that when I bought 2 Camrys and 7 months later, bought my brand new house. All under my good 680 credit and less income than now. Which was less than half of what you make.

There was a few incidents here in springfield like that. The dealership called a few people that bought a new car back to the dealership bc they "forgot to inspect some things." Come to find out they were smuggling cocaine in the spare tire compartment and forgot to remove it. Check your spare tire compartment you might find a surprise ha

Never heard back form Wells Fargo, B of A said I couldn't prove my income, even though I gave them actual copies of my paychecks and bank statements....
I took the 5.69 the dealer offered. I'm glad to be done with all of it. Now I can enjoy my car. Thanks for all your suggestions.
