Are Maximas being targeted by the Police?
Hi,
I heard something disturbing from my fiance's neice. She's an attorney in the area where we live. She said that Maximas are being targeted by the Police. And that a huge chunk of her clients are guys with these cars. She said that the cars were being targeted because the Police know they can go fast. So what I'm asking is, have any of you ever been pulled over by the police needlessly?
I haven't been pulled over ... yet. However, I did get eye-balled really good by a city cop one day last week. I was coming up to a stop sign as he past by. He turned all the way around in his seat looking at me. And believe me, he wasn't smiling. He would have been hacked if he had pulled me over, had me to roll down my dark tinted window(s) and seen who was driving.
So let me hear your story.

just like a red car is suppose to call attention to police i believe its what the individual is doing to get noticed...
Police are trained to notice things out of the ordinary, if you happen to be driving a nice Maxima then ok.
atleast in my area i dont think that is happening

I was told by a state cop that maxima are on a list of car that u can hide things in with-out having to do to much or take off a lot of things, meaning we have a lot of room in maxima that's why they look out 4 them

I always get eyeballed in my car by cops, people in BMW's, ricers, and crotch rocket guys. I'm probably the most unoffensive driver I know unless I'm trying to **** someone off (rare)- and my car isn't even that bad...

Put it this way wen you have tints, rims, and all other types of visual mods you are placing a huge look at me arrow above your head. If u state that u had to roll your window down for them to see the driver and you have some chrome rims on your car what do you suspect the cop to think you are. plain and simple tints are automatically a placard to draw cops and rims are the icing on the cake.

I'd say so.
I was pulled up for running an amber light, I got 2 demerit points + $100 fine, the Holden Commodore (regarded widely as a "hoon"s typical car) was denied by the nice police officer.....funny enough, at the same intersection, the seller of my new Max was driving to my house to sell up, was pulled and fined the same amount, for the same ... offence?....and the car parrallel was completely ignored.
The only similarities between me and that guy, apart from being eBay users, is both being a male under 25 in a semi-high performance car.
I see alot of old ladies driving Maxima's...I never see them on the side of the road....its a different story for any males I see in the drivers seat of one.
PS: The "I thought the light was pink officer" thing doesnt work...it results in the torch being shinned over your eyes instead of over your license in the cop's hand. Lesson learnt.

^^yea, when you look young and suspicious [u know if you do] and pair that with a modified car/stereo/tints you're just asking for trouble. I feel i drive i little less aggressively in the max than i did the altima-but its less modified too. Lower the tendency and you lower your risk.
...course, i do get eyed up pretty good too by 5-0 down in the city...haters
