You know your driving a VQ when It's cold out and you are speeding easily and It seems like your hearing the stock growl even better in cold weather.

You know you're driving a VQ when you go for a track day and once your driving ability gets good enough to need more power, you don't have to change a thing, because it's already there.

You know you're driving a VQ when you go for a track day with your buddies and their V8's give them problems all day and keep them in the pits, while you are out thrashing the p!ss out of it all day long and then drive it back home.

You know you're driving a Maxima when the stock 350Z's on the track with you really aren't all that much faster than you are.

You know you're driving a VQ when you see more cars behind you than infront of you when you accelerate from a red light.

QFT. Couple of guys that are out driving when I take my break at night seem to always want to rev their engines and take a go at it. Most of the time I don't bite, as the local cops love hanging around there and busting people for just about anything, but the few times I've gone, they were left faaar behind. And my old betty is just a stock 04.

You know you are driving a VQ35 when the SN95 Mustang GT behind you can't keep up when merging on the freeway...and you aren't even all the way on it!

Ain't that the truth! Even at half throttle, I am always way out in front of everyone else who was at the light.

Also, you know you're driving a VQ when after driving other DOHC v6's and then driving a Maxima, you think "finally, this appears to be the true fruition of the engine design".

THIS!

Also, you know you're driving a VQ when you have the telltale scars on your fingers from trying to change the KS without proper ratchet extensions.

... and you know when you're driving a VQ when you stop to think about it... and get mad because it's your wife's DD, not yours.

I used to think the Honda J30 V6 in my mom's Accord was the best V6 ever - VTEC, 3.0L 240HP on regular, integrated manifolds, smooth as butter... until I got my Maxima with the VQ30DE. It's just as refined but sounds much more soulful when you wring it out. It idles smoother and doesn't knock like the Accord does over 4k rpm (consequence of regular gas?). Torquier too. This engine was way ahead of its time.

I don't know any USA factory production VQ30 that made 240hp.
