You guys are forgetting the most irritating thing about the 4th gen, the fact that if you have anything in your left pocket, it will open the trunk when you're driving down the road. Other than that, I love everything about my 4th gen, sure it could be faster, but I've never had a car that I love as much as my 98 GLE. 202K and I still enjoy driving it 100miles a day to work and back.
Not all trim lines have the trunk popper button on the door, right? Aren't some down by the gas popper?

Turning radious, and the fact they use subpar parts ie. Xenons, and, COILS. Other from that I love her shes the best.
ALSO IT SHOULD BE REAR WHEEL DRIVE.
RWD? lol... Why? Have you ever seen a family Sedans nowadays go RWD? I hardly see them... And FWD is best for snow... but I do <3 RWD for donuts.
btw not sure, but is the G35 Sedan RWD like the coupe version? I somehow almost doubt it.

This. When I first looked at aftermarket support when I got my Maxima a few years ago I was appalled at how much of an advantage Hondas had over us. Its probably better though-otherwise I would be broke as hell by this point from going overboard...
I disagree with what people have said about our turning radius though-I used to do delivery in highschool and I got the Max out of some seriously tight situations relatively easy
Same here, I have no issues turning, Some say the turning is quite wide, I like it though, maybe cause I am a great driver but I have gotten out of some really crazy parking spots with less then an 1/4 of space between me and the other parked car.

having a big turning circle isn't all that great...last night i was at the mall and parked on the 4th floor...you know ho you drive in circles to go up/down the parking structures...well it was a pretty tight turn...and everytime there's an oncoming car coming i would be on their lane cuz my fat car turns so wide...i even had to reverse to let the other cars thru...kinda annoying =/

lol.. i've gotten out of some spots like that too.. but those spots would be alot less annoying to get out of with a car that turns tighter.. but if you have game (like me) then it doesn't matter either way cause you're just the sh*t

-G35 sedan is RWD with a AWD option... along with M35 and M45
-Crown Vic/Grand Marquis
-Lincoln Towncar
-All BMW sedans
-Cadillac CTS and STS
-Chrysler 300
-Dodge Charger and Magnum
-Jaguar S-type and XJ
-Lexus GS, IS, LS
-A whole bunch of Mercedes
I might be missing some, but it's a lot more common than you think. Typically I notice the luxury cars and bigger cars tend to be RWD

the constant rattle coming from the wheels somewhere. everytime i hit the brakes it goes away. i cant sneak up no where or leave the apartment with no one hearing me.
Oh, I thought of another one the other day as I tried to set my cruise to 75 (even). The white SE gauges only have tics at 10mph increments, not 5.

Don't get me wrong, I love my maxima to death, but there are some things about it that piss me off beyond belief. Feel free to air your maxima pet peeves here!
1. I have a 6-speed TE with those metal pedals. They look cool, but when it rains, beware... When I get in the car, the bottoms of my shoes will be wet from the rain, and when I go to press the clutch in... SLIP!!! My foot slips off the clutch and the car jerks like a motherfreaker. And this will happen until the water dries up. I hate that! I gotta make sure i carry paper towels to wipe off the bottoms of my shoes to dry them before I start driving
2. When I'm in first or second gear at low speeds (say 2nd gear at 20 mph) and I let off the throttle, the car will jerk. I can't stand that! Why!? I heard it was because of the drive by wire throttle... but what's the freakin point!? A quicker throttle response? Give me a .324 second slower response from a cable throttle if it means being able to take my foot off the gas without that gotdamn jerk!
3. What the hell is up with this freakin turn radius on the 5.5 gens? I swear I could turn a tractor trailer better than this gotdamn thing. I was coming from owning a 5th gen, expecting everything was the same... so I go to make my daily u-turn at the end of my block, and... SURPRISE! I almost hit a parked car! I had to re-configure my whole u-turn judgment. I'm still mad that I can't cut those quick u-turns that most cars can.
So needless to say, I'm having a pretty bad day when it's raining, and I'm driving slow while making constant u-turns...
I think it's actually all BMW and all Mercedes period

oh i thought of another one... how about the fact that you have to push in AND twist the rear brake caliper pistons when changing your brakes! Does anyone else use that flimsy @$$ autozone rental tool that you have to put together? Ugh!! I can't stand that gotdamn thing!! First you have to assemble the motherfreakin thing... then find the grooves in the piston, match them up with the tabs on the tool... use ALOT of strength to turn it.. then the piston is so hard to turn sometimes that you barely gain any ground before the tool slips off the piston, comes apart, and you have to re-do the whole process again! over and over! It can be a very frustrating process if the piston is hard to turn, and thank God the rear brakes don't wear as quickly as the fronts, or I might shoot myself...

yes they did.
Well my car has been sitting for months now, but now I'm starting to miss it.
Let's see things that piss me off.
A/C Compressor shot
Thermostat Gone
Water pump gone
Budget YPipe and Greddy SP2 sounds like a lot of raging bees
my damn trunk leaks
steering is way too light
95-96 steering wheel looks like a mack truck wheel
the shifter was taken out of a pickup
FWD
She'll be back on the road soon enough, I just put some new coolant in it the other day and have some G Coupe wheels on it, just have to get some the stock studs on it and my H&R crap taken off. I miss her I'm anxious to take a drive again and do some autoX.

for me the #1 problem is the turning radius, other than that, I've taken care of most problems (ie: handling, BOSE deck skipping, wheel gap)
-How does the turning radius differ between the 5 and 5.5gen? The car is almost the same, looks pretty much the same, I can't think of a change they made that would affect turning radius?

pick one of these up next time you have to do brakes, it's worth the $15 to $20 even if you use it once every 2 years and it just sits in the tool box most of the time. you should be able to find it at any decent parts store.

stock paint chips easier than moms china @ a keg party
turning radius
difficulty in removing hamburger emblems
and the fact that i got rid of my original battery after 105k due to a recomendation, and have gone through 3 new ones after only 6k more. i guess the last one is something that isnt the cars fault, but why not blame something who cant talk back?
