Take one of your front wheels off. Look behind the rotor. You will see a metal peg with a little plastic cap on the end of it. Chances are your plastic cap has hole worn in the end of it. Hence your metal on metal grinding noise. This is probably the same on the other side if you are getting the noise when you turn the wheel both ways. You need to replace those plastic caps.

fking turning radius on my 3rd gen killed me twice lately

first i drove a girl at work home because it was cold out and she had to walk, i missed her turnoff and went to make a U-turn to a side road. barely made it because of the turning radius, it wasnt a tight turn even, pretty embarassing

number 2, my uncles Grand Prix got hit a few days ago and will most likely be a writeoff so i drove him to all the dealerships today, drove around instead of walking because of the snow, of course its a tight fit and it was a bish having to reverse on lots of turns turning to go from each row of cars

Well, my first 03 GLE I bought new, and I hated the huge turn radius, solid rear axle, underpowered brakes, and slushy trans. Traded her in 2006. I missed the Max so much, just bought an 03 SE last week. She has miles, and I still hate the wide turns, solid axle, weak brakes, slushy trans.

But that V6! MMmmmmm. Makes it all better.

My mom owns a loaded 96 Maxima SE purchased new and to this day only has about 50k on it. She didn't like the Bridgestone Potenza's that it came with (bad in the snow) and she had an ABS light come on but other than that, the car has not had one single major issue in over 10 years!

My wife and I just purchased a 06 Maxima 3.5 SE a week or two ago. It's as loaded as it gets, but I already can tell the gas mileage is going to hurt compared to our 08 Mazda3S. The V6 and the roomy interior w/ all the amenities was worth it though in my mind

I have noticed that the ride is rather firm w/ the 18" wheels and I get a rather annoying rattle in the drivers front pillar it seems like when I hit bumps or rough patches of road. I will also agree w/ those who commented about the turning radius as well... definitely a bit frustrating but it is a pretty long vehicle.

The only thing this vehicle doesn't do that I wish it did was support MP3 or at least AUX for an iPod.
