Where to find bixenon projectors for HID retrofit?

I've noticed many of you have grafted bixenon projectors from acuras, audis, bmws, mercs, etc. I'm wondering, where did you find these projectors? Being in Canada, you simply won't find any at salvage yards. They are removed and sold long before anyone can get to them.

They used to be relatively available on ebay, but they've darn right disapeared or become outrageously expensive within the last year.

Where are you guys finding bixenon projectors?

Pretty hard to find a pair of projectors on ebay nowadays. In the last month I've only ever been able to find a single projector here and there. As for HIDplanet, again, I'm looking for used/cheap projectors.

I'm sure most that have done retrofits picked up their projectors from sources other than ebay and HIDplanet. Just hoping for the same luck in sources.

well projectors for hid are going to be kinda expensive unless you get them off of e-bay hidplanet has some all the time but its usually the GOOD stuff as for some cheap i wouldnt try looking under like 100 bux especally for bixenons because they eliminate the need for a high beam being that you get both high and low beams with those

Dont get Ebay ones !!!!....purchase a Nice Bi-Xenon setup from a E-46 or E55 BMW off of HIDPLANET or EBAY. Look for complete sets with projectors, ballasts, bulbs and holders. I just purchased a complete set off of ebay E46's for $264 from a private seller...not an Ebay company

As it stands, I'm probably gonna order a pair of projectors that house D2S bulbs and a pair of 4100-4700K D2S from Hella directly. It costs a little more, but to be honest, everything Hella I've ever used has totally blown me away. I just gotta get some more information on the projectors themselves, i.e. dimensions.

But keep those suggestions coming.

Actually, I've found everything I need now. After doing some research I picked up a set of Murano Bixenon projectors. They produce a phenomenally wide beam. WAY better output in general than the E46. Plus they are cast alluminum and enclosed, whereas the E46 ones are cheap *** everywhere. Where the Murano is cast aluminum, the E46 are stamped sheet metal. Where the E46 throws a narrow beam, the Muranos go way wider. Both have a good cutoff beam with a slight nod towards the Murano. I also picked up a a set of 4300K Phillips/Osram D2S bulbs in the transaction. I'm a big fan of Phillips/Osram stuff when it comes to bulbs/ballasts. I ran Phillips stuff in my old HID retrofit in a Volvo for years without trouble. Actually I already started the retrofit. I'm doing my quite differently than most do though. Instead of running a smaller projector and a bezel, I entirely cut off the rear half of the housing. I just laid down some fibreglass that will now become the new front fascia of the headlight. It will have an approximately 3" round opening, but will otherwise be contoured fibreglass. I'm about to go check on them now. If they've set fine, I will lay some fibreglass on the back side that the projector module will eventually mount to. I'll probably double up the fibreglass on the backside for extra strength since the Murano module is quite heavy and robust.
