Maximas on TV...

After reading MaximaGirl's car being on FUSE TV, was thinking about if I had seen any maximas on TV. Not 5 minutes later I'm watching "Without a Trace" repeat on TNT and the missing guy gets picked up in a black 3rd gen. Then the FBI is asking a witness what car it is. Most shows the witness would just say "a black sedan" but the guy actually calls it out as a "black Nissan Maxima" and they write it up on the dry-erase board.

anyhow....random.

Pretty cool...

Back in high school we got a packet in civics class and then I believe it had something to do with what the consequences would be from these real life stories. Anyway reading through the stories one of them said "A 23 year old male was caught speeding in his 1998 Nissan Maxima and the car was searched and the driver was in possesion of drugs!!" I thought it was neat that they specifically mentioned the car.

Ha, watched one of those easy cash loan commercials today and the sister drove up in a 6th Gen. Also on FX, the show Rescue Me, one of the firefighters drives a 6th Gen and they always show it.

Don't watch it anymore but one of the babes on Desperate Housewives drives a 6th Gen...

I like all Gens but I just tend to catch more of the 6th Gens I guess because I have one...

Maximas seems to be the choice of the pre-thug (not yet graduated to full thug)

More 3rd gens though.

I see them(Maximas) all the time randomly in movies...at least 1 and 3 movies set in the 'now' ... I'll see a few 4th gens and some 5th gens..

Payback, Mystic River, Swimfan, Duplex

The 3rd gen max was the Gansta's/Balla's vehicle of choice back in the early 90's here in NY. It then moved up to the 95 5 and 7 series. Escalades or anything gas guzzlingly Huge for early 2000s to present along with today's Pimped out Magnums, 300C's and such.

I personaly vote for a Sonata or something to be in all the new rap videos.

what's wrong with maxima in the snow?? It gets me to the ski resorts just fine. In fact, the harder its snowing, the more likely I am to drive....

No offense but from seeing the pics of your house $450,000 means either the market is ridiculously inflated in your area or you are overestimating...Just because this is an example of what $450,000 buys in a burb of Buffalo, Ny. This house is for sale now listed at $459,900 in a prime area, the house is 4,000 sq ft and can fit 4 maximas.

Sorry severely off topic but I was taken back by that lol.

Hate to tell you this, but the DC metro area is seriously expensive (Fairfax County VA, where I live, is one of the most expensive counties per capita in the country). For example, I can expect to easily sell my 1971 townhouse (2100 sf with ugly yellow siding and no garage) for about $350,000 within a year.

The kind of house we plan to buy next (in the same area) will probably be 2500sf, 3-4 bedrooms, 2-3 bathrooms, a 1-2 car garage, and built in the '70s. And we're going to have to fork out a MINIMUM of $550,000 to get that. I make a pretty damn good salary and can barely afford to live in this area....which is why I drive a Maxima and not a BMW M5 like I could afford if I lived in BFE someplace...

The house in those pics you posted would run a cool $1-1.5 million in this area depending on how big of a lot it's on.

It's not all about the house, it's all about the location. And around here location costs big bucks. I can buy 1,000 acres out in Montana for the price of 2 acres in Northern Virginia....

I love upsate NY, but Buffalo is far from "prime location" in the grand scheme of things, and the movers and shakers in the DC area don't live in Buffalo....they make big money here, and they spend big money here.

Well I ment prime for Buffalo...Williamsville is a nice burb here. However, the taxes on that monster are $17,000/year. What you shell out in house price we make up in taxes. But the same house couild be built outside a subdivision and the taxes would be much less, perhaps $10,000...but that still isnt as bad as paying a cool mil for it.

If I leave this area in the future it will most likely be for the carolinas or something like that, they have house prices comparable to here with low, low taxes.

There is a 6th gen Maxima in Desperate House wives and a tone of other Nissan (Titan, 350z) Nissan must be paying thru the nose for advertising on the show.

I also remember watching an episode of "The first 48" (real murder investigation show on cable) and the detectives were following the suspects, who happened to be driving a 5.5 gen black max on dubs.

Random... a 4th Gen max is featured in ( at least in the previews) 50 cent's Get Rich or Die Trying movie...

BTW, one of those new "Above the Influence" Anti-drug ads shows a teen driving a '97 GLE...all you see is him driving and , right at the end, you catch a glimpse of the woodtrimed dash which gives it away

Anyone ever seen that Autozone commercial with that chick in front of a 4th gen GLE like her car's busted? yeah, you'll only see it on TV, a Max stranded with the hood up on the shoulder lol.....

I was just watching "The Professional" the other day and there is a quick shot of NYC traffic where a white third gen drives by. I had to rewind it to see if it was a GXE or SE.

Amazing movie by the way.

wow, 450 for that? here 450 buys you a 2 bedroom 2 bath just outside the floodplane. a house IN the floodplane goes for 300k. you could expect to pay a mil for that.

That's pretty funny. The real funny thing is I actually passed the police examination to become a cop in Bmore city. I then thought it over. The pay was definately NOT worth dealing with the **** I'd have to deal with.

I saw that one, with the black/polished lip dubz IIRC.

I just caught one today in The 40 Year Old Virgin. When Steve Carrell is biking to work the day after they all find out he's a virgin, he rides past a white 3rd gen. Just before the great line "I might be a virgin but I'll fu'ck you up."
