GI: Maxima diecast car
Greetings all,
I am not sure how to post a vote poll here on the .org yet, so I will do the poll this way. Here's the deal:
As the recent new owner of a 2000 Maxima GLE and and avid diecast toy collector, I have been surprised by the lack of a Maxima diescast casting of any generation by any toy manufacturer. What I am looking to gauge interest in is this --
If there were to be a casting of one or several generation Maximas, would you buy them?
Here's the scoop -- My name is Gustavo Tanahara; on the .org I go by the screen name 2000MaxGLE. My brother is the Vice-President of Product Development at JadaToys, a diecast toy manufacturer in Los Angeles. If you are unfamiliar with Jada Toys, here is their website: www.jadatoys.com
They already produce several Nissan castings, as seen in the various photos at these links:
http://www.jadatoys.com/products.php...acer&scale=all
http://www.jadatoys.com/products.php...Import%20Racer
This link shows a photo my brother's Chrysler 300C:

Anyway, how you all play a part in this is that if I can provide enough interest in a Maxima casting, I can ask my brother to design some castings that hopefully would eventually be mass produced. This isn't a guarantee that it will happen, but it would certainly be a good focus group opportunity for them and for us .orgers to get a scale size car to customize to look like our 1/1 scale cars. I will keep you all posted as to the progress, but again, this would take some time between design and production phase if it became a reality. This is not a joke; I would like to see these become a reality.
Thanks to all of you!!

don't toy with my emotions, sir...
simply put: this topic has been brought up several times in the past...suffice to say, you have potentially thousands of paying customers on this site who would gladly buy AT LEAST one such car, if not more (for collectors/hoarders like myself).
u have my blessing...please proceed.

I would buy multiple 3rd gen ones, even though it's highly doubtful that would ever happen. I would also be down for a nice looking 5th gen model.
My one suggestion would be to have the cars made to look stock or pretty close to stock. Most model collectors don't find much appreciation for cars covered with graphics, wings, huge wheels, etc. Look to the past at the cars that are sought after today.

abso*******lutely
id buy multiple ones. stock, aftermarket, whatever at this point, since there is nothing out there. i have a lot of jadatoys models, and they can make some clean lookin stuff, and some ricey stuff. if it looks anything like the GS400 and the 350Z have, id love it. maybe even a limited edition production run, so they can charge a little more but knowing most of us would pay it.
more than likely, it would be a 4th and/or 5th gen, id assume.

im an avid model collector as well and I'd definately be interested in a 5th gen, preferably an AE, grey lustre too.....or is that too much to ask? But anyway, its an awesome idea. Modified or stock, any 1:18 model would be good.
edit: not too ricey though: 20's, big wings and graphics not necessary

I just wanted to add a little thing for the 4th gen. if you are going to do it (I will buy it of course)
But do the 4th gen (99 SE-L) that can make things easier for you guys...
I'm sure most will agree that even though I want my 95 maxima it would be too much work to do all details form the 4th gens, or any for that matter. and the SE-L is a very desireble version of the 4th gens...
yeah I'm Sure you are going for the stock looking ones... no sensce in making it everyones taste work... (everyone used to have a stock maxima when they first bought it.)
