What color red to paint the 4th gen.?

It's a 97, subtle drop, sarona ver. 1 sides, and rear. CF Hood, stillen front lip, black tints, chrome trim and door handles. What color red should I paint, any metallic, any flakes? Give me input.

That cherry red looks good but it's a little to dark I want something a little more lighter. Kinda like the Ferrari colors, or the 350z / G35 C colors.

To the ones voting brown nahhhhhhhhh I'll pass.

Harris, you just painted that car? How many times are you going to change the color? Keep in mind, being the car now has at least 3 paint jobs if not more on some pannels, it should come back down to metal for a fresh clean slate to start with again. To many layers or paint jobs will start to show poor quality, especially around edges. There is also a greater risk of mapping.

Think real hard before you paint that car again.

Well I spoke with Tilley (He's the one painting it) in reference to Tom's post. I asked him about the edges and "mapping". I have no idea what mapping is, neither does, he. Tom, what's mapping?

Here's what he told me he would do, he said it was going to sand down the car with probably a 400 grit, and block all the panels to smooth them out. And block the edges too and primer whatever need to be primered. Then shoot the base, and clear.

The roof, driver side fender, pass. 1/4 panel rear door and front door, and driver side front door have only been repainted once. The front bumper has been repainted I think twice. Rear bumper never been repainted, trunk lid, driver side 1/4, and driver side rear repainted 3 times.

But the original shop (Tom's old body shop) probably added 3 clear coats so the paint isn't thick.

Tilley said the edges and what not would come out nice and I've seen his body work, it's really good. So I'm not too worried.

id paint the door handles, your going for the sporty look with the body kit, cf hood etc, painted handles would flow much better then chrome in my opinion. you dont see chrome door handles on sports car

Luxury, and sport . The trim would be chrome regardless I don't know how they would paint that.

That imola red really hit the nail for me. Is that similar to the red of the g35?
