i have the safc II installed on mine. but should have done more research and would have gotten the vafc II so i could control what ever that thing is. i think it will allow you to open the butterfly valve earlier, i am probably wrong though. but i am happy with my safc II it really brought out the performance from the intake and exhaust mods..

I'm sorry but this thread kinda sux. A V-AFC II is essentially a S-AFC II with an RPM switch. If you want an RPM switch/AFC get the.....man....nevermind

SafcII because VafcII wouldn't do much with running a T-60.

I'm going to buy them both and hook them together. Double the adjustments and a RPM Switch for my mevi.

i went with a vafc2 because the rpm switch ability, more precise increments adjustibility (both are 12point but vafc does it in 100rpm increments), only cost me 10 bucks more on ebay and the priceless looks on honda owner's faces. be aware that the vafc2 does not support hotwire. you can still hook it to the maf pin but the display will be in terms of pressure.

Slimer, I'm still working in conceptual mode right now...

once I get the basics down and a prototype built, I'll release more info on it...
just thought it was a good time to mention it before people go and spend 3x the money on gadgets that will do the same thing, only much less reliably.

Let's just say, MEVI control, RPM window switch (for nitrous), and shift light... user programmable.. all in one box.

the only thing i dont like about the vafc is when the vi opens, the wheel light turns from green to red. looks like im running a shift light on an automatic from the rear window. that and the fact they shortened the wires in the harness so it wont run up the pillar to the sunglass holder without extending the wires.

I have the VAFC-II to control the opening/closing of the MEVI and fuel adjustments. If you don't need RPM activated switch then get the SAFC-II and also i think the SAFC has the knock sensor input....not sure if they eliminated it on the SAFC-II.

From my experience with both; VAFC-II > SAFC-II

Even if you don't need the RPM switch.

Doesnt the VAFC have 12 more points than the SAFC does? so a total of 24 adjustment points, compared to teh 12 of the SAFC...

The RPM switch thing is just a bonus..

<-- I know the thread is old

You have two Vs in your screen name, does that mean you have double VTEC?

Think for one lousy second about what the V in VTEC means.

Are you trying to say you have a Nissan Mustang with VeeTak? No wonder some random RX8 driver is stitting at home crying right now.

Just put in whatever YOU want - asking us is liking asking us when you should wipe your b u m mate. No offence, but just go down your own road mate and then tell us what you found out. Cheers and best of luck - .

I'd love to use the VAFC-II because of the rpm switch and that it's more fine-tuneable but apparently no one knows how to tune one to a Maxima in New Zealand, so I'm going with the SAFC-II.

They say (here in NZ) that the VAFC-II is for F A R T land Hondas only.

VAFC = N/A, Turbo, Supercharger. Single use.
SAFC = N/A + Nitrous, Supercharger + Nitrous, Turbo + Nitrous.

That's how I see it. VAFC is basically one large map with a user-chosen cross-over point. When I had the VAFC2 installed in my automatic Altima, I liked the fact it had 24 points of fuel correction and that tuning was a lot more precise. And the whole green to red was pretty cool. I always just told people that the car was hitting VTAK. Lol. The SAFC has two maps as well with 24 fuel map points total but no cross-over point, so they're basically two single maps that are manually switched from one to the other by the user. Thus the reason it's perfect for someone running N/A (when the bottle is out) and nitrous (when the bottle is in.) I'll be purchasing a SAFCII eventually, just have to get suspension ready before then. Spinning aint winning.

so you really wouldn't need to get an SAFC or VAFC if you are not running nitrous or would it provide advantageous gains in speed/acceleration?
