The "Remember when......." Thread

Remember when:

No one cared about ECU's for performance?
NA was boring?
People said most things couldn't be done but they really didn't know why from first hand knowledge?

Like the 3.5 swap into a 4th gen...
...or the 6-speed swap onto a VQ30.

We all got along .... There weren't any know-it-all 16-17 year olds.

Everyone thought the 5.5g was going to be AWD V8 .. just like everyone does every new modl year.

4 lbs of boost meant 275whp.

The only body kit available was the Stillen.

Fastest N/A Max was ran a 14.3 ...

Fastest boosted was 13.2 automatic S/C

BrianV was the first to have Milles and it looked sooo good ...

Emax had the first NZ headers, and they were black.

All of our knock sensors were working fine and we had no clue how to change them

RB was annoying to talk to because he could barely speak/write in english

Hal(HLH) blew his automatic ...

200 whp seemed unattainable.

The DEK never had coil/MAF problems

Deezo had a sig when his car was assaulted by mud/ice/salt.

mzmtg's sig showed him hitting the rev limiter in 3rd w/ 180,xxx miles.

No one cared about LED's.

mecca had his first car, a 95/6 pebble beige GLE ...

Uncle Sprinty everyone ...

Remember when....

People thought it was blasphemy that a maxima could attain over 300 fwhp. Now it's what, mid 400's on a stock block with 5 guys I can think of building/ have built motors that will easily push well over 500 fwhp...

My car was clean?

Mecca had rainbow tint?

Some guy, I can't remember his sn for the life of me.... claimed that he beat an R1 and was flamed to hell for it...

DBM was around

The org wasn't in a VB bulletin style, and Russ ran it... *shudders*

I don't remember his name but he is from the DC area and owns a transmission with gearing equivilant to 24 psi or boost.... Cutler likes to bring that story up.

I remember when:

Don in Texas was a trusted member and was the first to run 12.1 in a 4th Gen Max but was soon challenged by Jime to produce proof. Don in Texas leaves the forum forever...

Wasn't Don also the guy that had a pink/ purple chameleon max and was friends with ROADBEAST?

Speaking of the devil.... I wonder how roadbeast is doing... we should ask his friend that came around down the line... ahh what's his face?...
