Is this True??? Rhode Island People.

I might be buying a car in Rhode Island. I know this doesn't have anything to do with a maxima. I am buying a 1990 Nissan 300ZX. This individual told me he doesn't have a title for it. So now He's saying car older than 10 years old doesn't get titles. Is this true or bull. Please help me. I don't wana get a car and end up being stollen. Thanks.

1) try the proper regional forum
2) if you end up buying a car with no title, I have a bridge that you might be interested in.

yes it is true. in RI you don't need the title if thecar is more than 10 years old but you do need the registration or some sort of proof of ownership and a bill of sale.

yes that is a true statement. I bought a van that didnt have a title. I know in mass If you are going to reg it you need 2 forms....I had the bill of sales and a very old reg. Check your local dmv and see what forms you need for the car....

Been there done that....

In RI, the DMV does not accept or issue a title after 10 years. If you buy a 10+ year old vehicle in RI, yo umust check with your local DMV. Usually, you can apply to have the car "re-titled" for a fee. You will probably need the current owners registration slip to do it though. Good luck.
