Who's the lightest Max on the Org??
These past 2months I've been working on my car doing the Hybrid swap and I just keep getting more and more ideas to make more power and less weight. This might sound crazy to others but I don't care. This car is only going to be for weekend racing.
Who here has the lightest MAX??
I pretty much have a long list of things that I took out of the car I mean allot.
About 6 months ago I weighed all parts I took out and it came to 266lbs now since then I took lots more out. I'm aiming for 2600ish with seats and me inside I want my car to look normal as possible.
Me 154lbs.
Here is a list of stuff taken out so far.
repalce Aftermarket y-pipe
replace Aftermarket Cat-back
Plate Under Steering Wheel.
Support bar behind glove box.
Plate behind back seat
Sound deadening under hood.
Miscellaneous bolts due to removing things.
No Cat
Lighter rim/tire combo
Ground Control Coilovers
Stock Fog lights
Power antenna
All non-essential hoses air boxes and other things Removed from engine
Extra bar in front bumper and Rear
Windshield wiper motor
Owners Manual
Jack
Metal piece that holds jack
Spare Tire
All AC components
All seat belts accept for driver and passenger
All Power steering components
Cutout unneeded metal. *I won't tell so don't ask.
Cutout spare tire well and replace over with aluminum sheets * PICS @ Cardomainpage
No windshield reservoir
I know the 3.5 Bottom weighs less than the 3.0 anyone know by how much?

I think he will beat me cause he's going all out. I'll take the seats out when I go to the track that will be sick.
I really want this to look stock as possible no one will ever know by just looking at it. I guess the real question would be who here has the lighest max with all the seats in.

The CF hood is comming soon ofcourse it'll be paint matched "sleeper". but everything else will have to wait.

How much weight was the spare tire well? How much weight was the sheet metal you put in? I was thinking of doing this but with aluminum.I just dont know how much weight there is there.

Damn I tried once taking that sound deadening stuff out it was harder than I thought, it was like glue and some places it was hard as a brick.
Damn were pretty close I see it says 2875lbs is that with you in it?

I pretty much cut out the whole trunk allot of metal. I tried to weigh it all but there were so many little pices evrywhere. I did weigh some of the bigger pieces it was like 3lbs I would say altogether 10lbs to 15lbs.
The sheet metal is Aluminum under 2lbs worth est.

Actually it's thin aluminum sheets that weigh less than 2lbs that I covered it with. The Sheet Metal that I took out was est. atleast 10lbs

Up north you don't need the dry ice, just leave the car out in the cold. I measured my matting Sat and the durometer was over 90 hard. Perfect for chisseling off

as soon as this FRI I will weigh any additional stuff I take out and keep you guys posted on how much exactly my car weighs with me in it. Thanks quickest N/A Auto here I come.

would it have been better to start with a GXE?
I would assume a GLE is heaviest, then SE then GXE.
do the model differences have a large impact on the car's weight?

Yeah it's funny but with all the unnecessary bolts it surprisingly weighs at least 5lbs, not much but it does add up....

By this Jan 05, I will have shaved 350lbs from my car and will weigh exactly 2950lbs. Since I have weighed my car at the track and have weighed every parts that I removed from my car, I have a very accurate estimate as to what my weight is.
Last week, I removed 81lbs from my car by removing all sound deadening, trunk linings, carpet, and hood sound deadening (which is not even a pound). The sound deadening material alone took up 4 trash bags and weighed about 54 lbs.

Just so everybody knows... USE AN AIR CHISEL!! This tool is freakin awesome. I was able to bust up the sound deadening in huge chunks. But, I think my car is different than everybody else b/c it was raised in DRY Las Vegas. I bet this material was dried out b/c it didn't even leave any sticky residue. But try an air chisel first. If that doesn't work, use dry ice. Let it sit for 3 minutes until the material frosts over and then hit it with a hammer and maybe a hand held chisel. It should come up no problem.

I think all my sound deadening material was about 25 lbs; thats from the trunk (not much on a 4th gen), under the entire carpet, rear seat, and off of the rear deck. I did it all by hand 
. Took me atleast a week to get it all cleaned up. I used mineral spirits to clean what was left behind. Boy was it time consuming.
