Happy New Year to me...or not! =(

I was driving home from my friend's house this morning around 2AM and a deer ran right into the side of my car. It shattered the driver's side rear window and dented and scratched both doors and the rear quarter panel on the driver's side. The most damage is on the shattered window because it appears that the window frame is bent. I got a police report and contacted my insurance company. What a great way to start of the new year, eh?

My brother had the same thing happen to him while he was driving down the Palisades Parkway in my mother's one month new car.

Man, was she PO'd.

Luckily the insurance covered all the damage.

Yeah, deer suck. They're so damn stupid. One ran into me a month or two ago. I don't have full insurance, so I need to fix the car myself. You'd think that it wouldn't be so hard on the car to hit a deer. They're only 95lbs or so, and probably pretty soft.

I've been meaning to take some pictures to show everyone the damage, but I haven't had a chance because it's been raining and stuff. I got an estimate of $1400 to repair the damage. I'm just waiting for the insurance company to come out and look at the car. I think that I am lucky that I had the tint on my windows because the window shattered but stayed together from the tint. If the tint wasn't there, glass would have been all over the inside of my car. I'll try to take some pictures soon.

Later,
-Nick

Wow those are midget deer roaming around your way.

I've heard of people hitting big ones and really wrecking their cars. Atleast the damage here wasnt THAT bad.

I'm gonna agree with Ant on this one. My neighbor owns a body shop so I have seen some damage that deer have done. Deer are like tanks...and yes I am pretty lucky escaping with only $1400 worth of damage.

Sorry to hear about your damage. I hope the body shop can make that car look as flawless as it did when I saw it the E-town meet in May.
