Will your insurance not cover it?

Why would you want to, when you can have this fixed for cheap and not have to pay extra premiums for the next few years.

I'll say the same thing here I said in the last thread about broken windshields. Depending on your policy, glass is $0, or $500. However, replacing glass does not raise your premium. I have had ins. from 4 different carriers, and I got a new windshield every year for free, and it never raised my premiums. Insurance will not cover replacement from the dealer tho, it has to be aftermarket.

Yeah, don't go to the dealer... Shouldn't cost more than about $300 installed from a reputable auto glass place... And if you have glass ins., I'm also pretty sure it doesn't go up - mine never did when I had to have my 'shield replaced...

Most people do $0 deductible on the glass since it turns out to be lke $15/year for it. And it doesnt affect premiums. They would rather you replace the glass then drive a cracked one which impairs your vision not to mention get a ticket or into an accident.

Whoever told you it raises premiums is full of it. If you have it on your insurance use it, thats why you pay for it.
