It'll be noticeable for a few weeks but it should go away/blend in after a while. I have a white Max (hardest color to match) and you can't see where the emblems used to be anymore...

I am fighting with this. I got all the emblems off, but now I have MAXIMA and the Nissan symbol in glue on my trunk. I decided to be cheap and bought the budget goo-gone knock off, instead of real goo gone. This stuff was 7 dollars for a spray can and it didnt do a damn thing. I will try the blow dryer tommorrow as I can nolong stand looking at all that glue.

Had that happen to me - use a hair dryer (I used a heat gun) to heat up the glue and then ball up a rag and use the rag to rub it off (rub violently back and forth) and it'll come off with ease

Had my glue "XIMA" and the bottom burger half on for like 4 months before I took it off lol

on 2003, you can just remove the badges, googone the surface, and that will be it? Cuz i know a few cars have emblems on like... pegs, and when you remove them there are holes on the body of the car

I'm assuming this method will also work for those little stickers that the dealer puts on the car? I've been driving mine for 5 years in the hot Florida sun with a Maroone sticker. Will I notice the difference in the paint when it comes off?

What's the general consensus... is WD-40 best/suggested or Goo Gone?

Thanks!

so which is the best for getting the glue off? WD-40, Goo-Gone, or a hairdryer/heatgun and a balled up rag?

All of those glue removers didn't work for me so I went with the heat gun and balled rag method. After the glue was removed, I used a clay bar to clean up the area (the shadow thing will go away after a few weeks)

You're down in TX so the cleaners and a rag might work for you (didn't work for me in Chicago lol)

gas works very well Make sure you only use a little , And that you clean it right after with hot water and soap or it will mess up your paint.

anyone know how to remove an emblem stuck on with "gorilla glue"? Will the above mentioned tecniques work? This stuff is super-strong but it leaves an ugly tannish outline around the emblem which looks tacky?

Yes - to remove the front emblem heat it up with a blow dryer then use a flat head screw driver (covered with a few layers of terry cloth) and carefully pry one end then the other until it lifts off.

Can we get a picture of the truck with no emblems? I want to do this but think that the key hole to the trunk will look funny just hovering in the middle of the trunk. Might just have to remove the useless key hole too!

I know people want you to search old threads and stuff, but this is what happens when you do. This thread was started in 2003.

On page one there is a picture of a debadged trunk.

Here's an old cellphone pic of mine. When I bought it, the X was broken and the second I was missing, so I pulled all the letters off.

This weekend I Niteshaded the tails and installed a black lic plate frame and smoke cover. Now the Nissan logo and keyhole stick out more than ever. I am going to remove the Nissan badge and paint the keyhole black now.

Or you can do what I did after removing the vinyl on my pillars, I used nail polish remover... but you need TONS of it... it took almost a whole bottle to clean all my pillars.

ya i debadged mine but it left some of the sticky stuff on behind the letters. Bug and tar, goo gone, etc nothing seems to take the stuff off because it's not just the sticky residue, it's that + some of the stuff between that and the letters. whatever it is it sure as hell doesn't want to come off.

After I pulled my emblems off, I used "Big Orange" (manufactured by ZEP) to get the rest of the adhesive off. Our shop uses it to remove decals from trucks when they're sold.

I debadged mine a few weeks ago, and i ended up buffing off the sticky goo behind the badges. Took me about 30 min to fully clean it and in the end i had a very very clean trunk...in the middle of winter.

This works well.

You may have a "shadow" where the emblems were. It can most likely be polished out with rubbing compound from an auto parts store.
