Coming home tonight it started raining and the ground was really really slippery (I've driven in snow with more traction) I was messing around coming up to a red light I locked up my wheels (no abs) at like 40 mph. I slid for a good 15 feet and right at the end of my slide, all of the lights on my dash lit up, my steering wheel locked in place, and my car stalled. I found this to be really strange and rather unsafe, as my car is an automatic... I guess the car didn't get out of gear quickly enough or something. Now, I've locked my wheels on several occasions before this (purposly and not) but the car always just kept on driving along as soon as I let off the brake. The fact that the steering wheel locked got me pretty concerned, as if I was actually in an emergency situation, it would have been quite dangerous. Does anyone have any similar experiences or thoughts on the matter? Anything would be helpful.
