My girlfriend ALWAYS criticizes me for using premium. She drives a Saturn so I don't really feel like putting her on point...

Was it a leased car? I pump 87 all the time into leased/rental vehicles.

My friend has a 2000SE and 2002SE (one 5spd, the other 6spd), and they only get 87 in them, the cars run fine for the most part. I however always put 93/94 in my 97SE.

Yeah, the part I don't get is how do you notice what somebody else is pumping? The pumps that I use make you select the grade and it comes out of one nozzle, plus if it's Jersey you don't even get out of the car. You'd need binoculars to see if it were 1.299 or 1.479. If it's the 4th gen premium isn't required anyway, so who cares. That's like telling somebody they should get Corian and not granite, Andersen not Pella. It's a personal decision.

In Connecticut we have pumps that have different nozzles for different grades.. and some of them are even color coded

well in CT we don't have idiots who don't know how to pump gas so we don't have a "don't pump your own gas law" and when you are sitting on a motorcycle.. its real easy to see what they are pumping..

nope.. but 91 is.. i am guessing you never read your owners manual.. ow well.. thats on you ..

obviously i don't.. or did you not pick that up in the first post

91 is concidered premium, here in NJ, you can get 87, 89, or 93, some gas stations offer 92, and one (sunoco) offers 94. Since the 4th gen recommends 91+, you would need to get the "premium" gas from whatever gas station you are using.

C-14? why not C16?

87 octane? I am so use to running 100 octane, even 93 octane I consider very low.

Did you guys see the new AMOCO/BP commercial with the lady putting premium in her 4th gen maxima. The fuel pump goes like " that is the nicest car I've sen all day", she says" I only put in premium. All the time"(she must have read the sticker)...
