Carbon fiber eyelids - 3rd, 4th, 5th gens.. and maybe 6th

Ok so to keep in my tradition of trying custom things that might fail.... I want to throw this out.

Assuming I got my hands on some carbon fiber materials... and assuming I could get the resin and material that WILL NOT turn yellow...

Who would be up for some carbon fiber eyelids? What would be a reasonable price? (For now I'm thinking between 75-100 shipped??? I'm taking into consideration that most fiberglass eyelids are like $65 + shipping)

I'm thinking 5 for each gen would be sufficient to start off a group deal in the GD forum. Oh, and the donor cars for 3rd, 5th, and 6th gens (if interested) will possibly get a free set of eyelids if there's enough demand.

That being said... post your designs for eyelids. They don't have to be perfect photochops, but preferably a shot of the front of the car looking straight at the camera. Few ideas: Use tape or cardboard cutouts on your headlights and see what you can come up with.

eyelids would look better if they were one piece with the hood IMO

Would probably only look good on a black Max.

I got an idea for an eyelid design (and I actually saw a Max with this one), but I don't have PhotoChop capability. But to put it in simple terms, they'd look similar to this car, except the rounded part would be on the top instead of the bottom. But I guess this would only look effective if you had the headlight conversion, huh?

i scrapped the idea as far as producing large quantities... but I'll still get some made for myself, then see how the durability/fit/quality is and document it, and then see if many might be interested. If VIS releases their Carbon Fiber hoods for 4th gens soon, then I'll be picking one up since they're based here in cali (instead of paying $150 for shipping even if AnGe's might be better quality. Hopefully the eyelids would be a nice tough with the hood. Who knows... if all my projects do come out, then expect my car at the L.A. Steamy Hot Rice Import Nights sometime in August.

I'm waiting for my factory in Hong Kong to ship the carbonfiber eyelids to me this month.

Here's a pic of the carbonfiber eyelid sample, sorry for the bigass pic

Even though I only have a "lowly" 3rd gen, I still can't wait to see how your idea pans out. I wanted to see about getting something along those lines for my car as well. And with my BMW conversion, I think it'd look especially cool.
