You'll need the dust boots to keep dirt and send out of the strut.. You should get them..

Just get the KYB dustboots, I think mine were like 30 bucks for all. I'd spend 30 again for peace of mind and knowing that my struts aren't gonna get mud and dirt in them

Dirt and rocks kicked up from your tires can/might/will scratch the pistons. Once that happens, you can them goodbye.

Get your KYB dust boots from http://www.tirerack.com/

I seriously doubt you will need new mounts. Those are metal and should last awhile. You might need new rubber seats and spring isolator sleeves though. Jack the car up, remove the wheels and take a look-see in there and see how everything looks and go from there...

i ordered my KYB dustboots from tirerack.com

about 55$ shipped.

Haha, I never heard of people making their own dust boots.
I did hear of people re-using theirs even if they were torn, just taping them up or whatever. I still rather buy new.

yep
12$ each.

7$ or so for shipping.

if you look for the dust boots seperate for the maxima, you can't just buy them without the strut mounts. Apparently 95 Mazda Miata boots are the same as maxima rears and 95 Mustang boots are the same as maxima front. (i may have them confused as far as what is in front or what is in rear but it's those cars). So you can order them that way. thanks to Nick97SE for discovering this.

Got some questions: I am getting new struts/shocks, should I get new strut bearings too? And if I should, do the back shock need them? What about fsb bushings? My Max has 150,000 on it. Thanks

IF you have 150k miles on your original strut bearings you should replace them. I think they're like $8 or $10 from the stealer. You'll only need two of them...the rears don't have them.

FSB bushings are front sway bar bushings. You'll need two of them as well if yours need replacing. The following link shows where you can get them and it includes a diagram showing where they go....

You know, I just realized that you're a '92. That link I gave you won't work as those parts/diagram are for a 4th gen. Sorry.

Anyway, your mounts should be okay unless you're having a problem locking down the whole susp. assembly. Those thing are kind of expensive so only replace them if you have to.

The bearings I bought from the dealer came pre-greased. If you're able to turn them and they feel like they have grease in them already (they should) theny you're good to go.
