Where to recycle used fluids?

I have some coolant and ATF that I need to recycle. Can I just take it to a place like Pep Boys or is there a specific place to take these things? Thanks.

My local autozone won't take coolant. I found that most oil change places will. Just about anywhere that changes it will take it.

Ok, thanks. Do the oil change places charge a fee for disposal?

If they do just leave it in a sealed container outside their door. They have to dispose of it.

Take that to Jiffy Lube and dispose of it. If no one wants to take your oil bring it to my job, just pour it out into our dispenser and thats it.

I know PepBoys recycles oil for free, not sure about other stuff. They sometimes make you sign a sheet inside but you dont have to pay anything

I think most automotive shops have a legal obligation to recycle used auto fluids, no matter what the source. My local Kragen has drums in the back room where I can pour my used oil into.

Pep Boys and Auto zone should take your tranny and motor oil. Coolant is tougher to dispose of...local city drop off station.
