Respect from an M3!!!

I was on my way to school the other day, and It was just a beautiful day...There was a little bit of traffic, and all of a sudden an M3 pulled up beside me...It was damn gorgeous..Anyways, he gets behind me, and traffic clears up, so I just get on it...Haven't gotten on it in a while, so I wanted to see what she could do...So I take off, and sooner or later I'm at 135ish...The M3 was also getting on it, but he got on it alittle after I did, so I had the slight head start...ya, so then at about 135 (where I hit a wall), he was coming in pretty quick, but we were coming around a slight curve (not very wide at all, was more like a slight bend), and I stayed on it, but he left off...Few minutes later, he pulled up besided me, had a startled look on his face, and gave me a big smile and a thumbs up....I felt very proud of my max

He said the M3 caught up with him after an initial delay, which is a different situation altogether. I don't see any reason not to believe jamsan's story.

maybe the M3 driver didn't want to take the turn too fast and risk wrecking his car

Exactly...I didn't say we took off at the same time, and I kept up...I took off a few seconds ahead, and around 130, he was reeling, and QUICKLY I might add...

Not sure what model m3

edit: it wasnt really a curve...i turned my steering wheel from center to about an inch to the right

i have spoken with Jamsan before... and from what i can gather from his chracter.. he wouldn't lie or make up story.. but i feel maybe the m3 driver can't drive as good or wasn't going all out

It had a body kit on it, So I'm not really sure...Also it had MA plates on it (If anyone maybe knows him?)...I'll try to look around for some pictures of it.

hehe my cousin sold me his maxima after he got an E46-M3! This is the 2nd car I've bought (maxi) from him and hopefully I can get his 3rd too

who knows, maybe it wasn't really an M3. Sometimes those guys like to debadge the 3xx and slap on an M3 badge.

Jamson: I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, sorry! But I've seen the "newer" M3s - with intake, Dinan chip, good tires - run high 12s at the grudge races. And stock ones handle like slot cars.

One of my neighbors has a 2002 (K&N panel, chip, and Michelin tires), and twice now, we've both pulled away from a stop sign near our houses. I pulled away first and he (being behind me) pulled out right after, and he passed me on the left like I slammed it in reverse and was backing up.

E46. They run ~13.3 stock. Although some members at dtmpower claim it can run 12.7.

I have the benefit of driving one every now and then. I'm going to ask and see if he'll let me take it to Commerce and let her rip. I'd even trailer it down then so as not to rack up miles...

He's got white '02 model, not loaded (pure performance car) with no mods...yet. He's thinking of going with a turbo setup What a freakin car that would be!

i got wasted from a roll by a 98 M3. granted he was pretty well modified, but he still layed wood on me. a good 3-4 cars in fact. no discredit to your story, but the M3 is a very quick car. i rarely race on the street, but i just wanted to see what i could do against one.

Those M3's are awesome, I have raced a mildly modified 328ci (same body style as the picture you posted) and it did pull me pretty good. Street starts are different though, if you start out well before they realize you are going they not only have to catch your speed, but surpass it.

The M3 was probably just happy that someone else enjoys their car. Anytime I race I give the other guy the thumbs up for the adrenaline fix, and I know that they probably love cars as much as I do.

M3's are awesome, but I would probably get a G35 coupe and invest the other 20,000 towards making it a sleeping monster. Kind of like the guy with 540i did in the second video, but that's just me and probably why I have a Maxima and not a Mustange, sleepers rule!!

This is an Audi S4 320 hp against an M3 (this gives you an idea of how fast the S4 is)

This is the same S4 against a surprising 540I (not as stock as it looks)

This M3 thing is never gonna go away, is it? So he has an E36 M3, a car that is superior in performance to any Maxima ever built, gen 1 to 5 and incl. 6. He waves to me and gives me a thumbs up. Why would I care? What if an E46 M3 driver gave me a thumbs up? Would my car be elevated that much more? Weird!

I put a beating on a 87 Ford Topaz last night.....

I'm on the highway cruising into my exit and the kid comes flying past in the left lane and crosses over 2 lanes to get off the same exit. So I pull up next to him and see he's a youngster(proably thought the car was fast *** hell by the way he was driving).

Both lanes turn left and I'm in the right lane, he's in the left. The light turns green and I get on it to show him what the Max has. He hits it and makes the left turn and he just cuts over into my to get in front of me (thinking he was going to leave me in the dust). Well, you auto guys know how deadly 2nd gear is, all I have to say is I cut left around the kid and murdelized the situation. Left him cold and scared. He didn't even want to redeme himself with a ricer flyby.

is that S4 auto??

anywho...a 330 is very capable of taking out a max, let alone the M3.
but anything can happen on the street, maybe he couldn't drive, maybe wrong gear, maybe someone took a leak in his gas tank and shoved bananas in his exhaust

nevertheless...i don't doubt the story...im sure its true
but don't think maxima's are capable of taking on an M3 after that

I believe him .. . what he did wasn't a race, and he didnt even say it was a race, he just said he drove fast and showed how the Maxima can do, and the M3 guy was impressed, simple as that.

why is is so damn hard for some of you people to believe that an obviously slower car can "beat" a much faster car on the street??

I have a yamaha r1 motorcycle that will COMPLETELY OWN ANY car on the street, yet there were plenty of times when i was in 6th gear goin 50mph and some camaros or firebirds would pull along and floor their gas pedal. at first i will whack open my throttle and then realize that the car is pulling away from me, then i have to downshift 3 sequential gears to get my engine in it's powerband, while the car has already pulled at least 7-8 length or more on me. sure once i'm in the powerband i'll reel him in and blow his doors off at 150, but that's not the point. the point is when you are racing someone that has no idea you are racing them until you've taken off and they are in the wrong gear, you'll win every single time
