Thank you and goodbye. Traded my 2k2 Max to a 300ZX TT
Well it's been a fun time. I appreciate the .org and have enjoyed it tremendously.
I loved my 2k2, it's a great car and it has served me well. I went to a dealer to have some very minor body work done to it (someone backed into the pass side) and I saw my dream car there. A '95 300ZX Twin Turbo with T-Tops. It had 28k miles (NOT a typo, yes 28,000) and was priced to go at $19,990 (also NOT a typo). Notably it was in between two 350Zs.
So after three days of haggling (and 2 sleepless nights, wondering if the car would go to someone else) I struck the deal I wanted; an even trade for the maxima (I owed 19,800) and we split the taxes and tags 50/50. So all and all I bought it for $20,500 AFTER taxes and fees. It is in immaculate condition, and in completely stock form. And it is a blast to drive!

Take care, I'm certain to still peruse the org!

It's an auto. So it was 95% the car of my dreams. Maybe a 5-speed conversion is in the works, but they are terribly difficult in the Z32s.
I've read the auto finishes the 1/4 mile faster though; I think because the stick finishes in 4th and the auto finishes in 3rd (more research needed to find out for sure). It's frighteningly fast above 60MPH. It pulls from 60-120 better than 0-60 I think!

My max had almost 20k miles, with no options except floor mats and mud guards and a few hundred $ in body work!

Either way stock for stock it'll be seeing my tail lights the whole way!

The auto Z's run the 1/4 mile in about 13.5-14.1 stock (depends a lot on where you look); and my 2k2 at best ran over a 14.5... Of course track conditions affect a turbo car a lot moreso than an NA car I think; (the only time my 2k2 could hold it's own is in adverse road conditions!
However I do miss certain features of the Maxima, ideally I would have them both!

Motor Trend, Road Test, June 1994
"Our tester, a five-speed SE version of this fourth generation of Maxima, produced a blazing 6.6-second 0-60-mph time, a 15.2-second, 92.4-mph quarter-mile run"
"The new Maxima shows no mercy on its Nissan stablemates: It'll stomp the normally aspirated 300ZX, and drivers of automatic-transmissioned 300ZX Turbos best not be snoozing when the light goes green."
I am pretty sure your 2K2 would have shown it's tail lights to the 300. Was it six speed?
But your new car has forced induction which means your upgrades are cheap and easy, so great buy, I wish japan would make em like they used too.

BTW, I have never seen a stock TT run 13.5 (especially an Auto). If that was the case the 5spds would have been running 13.2's!!
Hey you have a very nice car and I am not trying to flame.

I really don't care how much faster if any in the 1/4 mile my Z is to my 2k2; they are entirely different cars. I love them both!
With that said see you guys on the road, take care out there; and thanks for the support.

I bought an auto Z32 and regret doing so... I'd still be driving a Z probably if I had waited on a manual transmission. Got rid of the Z since I hated driving a manual sportscar :P
Gratz on the purchase.. upgrade those brakes asap!

And my maxima surely wasn't worth the trade, with 20k miles, nary an option and body damage!

Hey congrats on the purchase!! You made a smart move. I'd do this kind of deal in a hearbeat if I could.
People people, please.... He said his new Z is in PRESTINE AND IMMACULATE condition.. He owed about 20k on the max and he got the Z for about 20k. It was a good move. I would gladly pay 20k for an immaculate TT with 28k miles.
Enjoy the ride ~!!
As for me, I only got about $2700 left in my payments. After my max is paid off, I'm gonna enjoy the extra cash and keep modding.

Can anyone confirm this? Auto 300ZX's have 286HP...I remember having a 300ZX add and it listed the automatics having less HP I can't seem to find that add though, I cleaned out my OLD magazines
