Ouch, I'm sorry about your accident man. Is it totaled? Or can you salvage the Max?

Those rims did not come from the factory. They may have been on the car when you got it, but they did not come from Nissan...

...they were/are still ugly

Is that the new Anniversary Edition one? I remember seeing something like that at the NY International Auto Show.

Yes. It is the semi-ann. one. The actual anniv. is next year I believe and they are comming out with something different for that one.

I love this one just because for about 4k more I got over 6k worth of stuff covered under Factory warantee and Insurance is all good. What more can you ask for on a 2nd car.

Here is the link: GTI 337

Just to name a couple things:

18" BBS RC wheels
Michillin Pilot Z rated tires (??)
1" Drop suspension
Tuned Exhaust system
Recarro adjustable Race seats
6spd transmission w/ Stage 2 clutch

The car is great to drive, a blast. I still love when I get in my max after it though. I have 2 TOTALLY different cars.

No egine mods needed.... not from the dealer. But the mods are plentifull with this motor and the VW following.

I do plan on dropping in the Chip, BOV, and Boost controller to the sound of about $1k total.

95emerald - yeah, it feels like a straight stage 2. Our roomate also has a 1.8T Jetta w/ 5 spd and the clutch is so soft and on our 337 the clutch feels just like a stage 2, almost as strong as a stage 3. It is almost impossible to shift this car smoothly.

Sucks dude. One things nice to know though. Car held together real well. I'm a cop and I've scene a lot worse accidents at much slower speeds. Once again, the Max impresses me.

How did your tire blow out? Did you ever find out? Inspect the tire? Sometimes when i'm driving I wonder what would happen if I were to lose a tire... and then ultimately, I slow down. Scary stuff... it's one of those things that you think will never happen to you when in reality it could happen to anyone.

Glad you and your occupants made it out safely.

if you had to pick between the GTI and the Maxi which one would you take?

Ive been thinking about selling my car to pick up a 337 recently...Maxi is just too long to have fun with it at speed

They are two totally different cars. I love driving both. But after driving the GTI for a day or two, then I climb into my Max, I love the max. So easy and effortless to drive. Power on demand, no waiting on the turbo to kick in.

It all depends on what you want. The GTI is small and fun to drive. It is quick and corners great, but I personally don't think I would give up the max. I just like it's benefits over the GTI.

Go test drive one for a bit. Then go drive your max. You will know what you want then.

I would definitely take the 337 over a max....... nice small car, 6spd tranny, handles pretty good, and lots of after market.

They gave you $9500 for a 95??? What the f**k? I just totalled my 95 last month and 95's aren't worth but $6800, and they gave me $6500 for it. Whats the deal?

i was surprised as well, but i guess i got real lucky........paint was glossy, minimal amount of scratches and only had 54K miles......i got 9500 and after the 1000 dollar deductable it came out to 8500 over all, i'm happy.....i guess
