bolts that need to be torqued more than 140 lbs

So i have a torque bar at my parents house..(me and my brother shared tools) But since i moved to VA, its a PITA to keep on going to autozone and renting their torque bar. I was looking at the 1/2 torque bars and there were different ones where one went to 150 lb's and others that went to 250 lb's. The one that me and my brother has went to 250, and the autozone did too. But i don't want to spend a lot and was thinking of getting the one that only goes up to 150 lb's since its a lot cheaper.

But then i'm thinking what if i need to torque something over 150 lbs. Is the axle nut the only one that needs to be torqued over 150? Are there any other bolts that need to be torqued that high on a 98 i30 or any other vehicle? I don't mind going to go rent one from autozone once in a while when i'm working on huge projects, just don't want to go get one EVERYTIME.

Thanks for your help!

I cannot think of anything off the top of my head that requires more torque than the axle nuts. Everything else is below 150 ft/lbs, most of it well below that.

LOL. i did it all the time. The problem isn't getting it off, its tightening it to the right spec. I have a breaker bar to get the bolt off. I just want to make sure that the only bolt i need more torque is only on the axle nuts. I know that lug nuts are around 95 lbs...and i think thats the most amount of torque i need besides the axle nuts. I didn't feel like looking through the 1000 pages of the FSM if someone here can answer.

But from what it seems like, i think i'm good to go..

You'll be just fine with the 150 ft-lb wrench.
I think you only need the bigger one if you're torquing nuts on a Caterpillar or something.
