Small Parts Storage.

These are called Akro-Bins by Akro-Mills. They are avaiable in a variety of colors and sizes. UPS delivered them today and they are pretty awesome. Basically you mount a louvured plate to the wall and the bins hang from there. This model/size (19"x18") is supposedly good for 160 pounds, although I'm sure my installation would fall short. Turns out I'm better with electronics/metal/plastics than wood/drywall. LOL.

nice.

right now, all nuts, bolts, and washers are in the huge drawer in my toolchest

also I go to military surplus stores and for $2-3 you can get small Army ammunition boxes (metal) that are great for small parts too.

i do a lot of electrical projects so most of these are leds, resistors, connectors, bulbs, etc. its nice to have them right at my bench. my toolbox is pretty small so i try to keep extra things to a minimum. actually i had intended on getting some organizational things for my box but i forgot all about it.

I've been looking for ideas for this recently. I like this approach but I'll have to mull it over for a while.

The ammo boxes are a cool idea. I do the same thing and toss all my misc BS in a drawer in my little chest. Two of them are full now.

You can get essentually the same thing at Harbor Freight on sale for about $10. You can sign up for regular email coupons from them with lower prices than in their flyers.

I like it. But I have so many small parts that I'd need an entire wall filled w/ those. I'm one of those freaks where everything MUST have it's own place so for me even 2 nuts that don't below anywhere else would have their own box...

For bolts and small stuff, use a tackle box. We have 3 of these, got them for like $10 each and the best part, the dividers are sealed against the lid!

misc bolts/parts go in 1 gallon cans, organized by project/car/origin/size/style/strength/etc. Sometimes wrapped in paper towels.
