I like this garage door opener...

Better than a keypad but it's a bit spendy.

I just wonder if it has two wires in the back of the unit that can be crossed and the door will open, or if it's a remote operated unit.
If it's the unit that has two wires runing to it, then it's just as insecure as most other units and is purely for convenience.

Either way, I think it's unnecessary.

I just use the remote in my car. If I'm already home, I just open the garage from the inside....

we use fingerprint readers at work, and they are notoriously finicky and don't work half the time.....

I just got a pimp a$$ IBM think pad at work, and the fingerprint function sucks! Get a craftsman with a remote keypad. It will last for ever. That thing is more expensive than my whole set up, and it doesn't even come with the opener. It's only a wireless remote.

Not quite forever, but they do last a while. We have to replace ours about every 5-8 years at my folks' house.
