Floor Jack for lowered cars??
Does anyone know if anybody makes a floor jack for lowered cars, and where to get it. My jack just fits now and I am putting a body kit on soon. Thanks

The factory scissor jack IS the one for lowered cars!! That's the only one that will fit under mine. Jack it up a little then put a bigger jack under there.

My craftsman aluminum racing jack seems to fit under lowered cars just fine.

how about racing ramps? few standard ramps fit my stock settings. they cost 30-40 at pep boys etc. But like you said a body kit will mean none fit. I've only found racing ramps online for $150.
guess I'll be scissor jacking it

When I was installing my axles at my friends house. We put a long board that runs the entire width of the car and I drove up on the board and then we were able to slide the jack under the car.

cheap: build some small ramps with some 2x8 boards or something... then use your regular jack under the car.
fast: aluminum racing jack. they get low, but I don't trust them to work under the car.. they won't last incredibly long, and they're pretty expensive for a good one.
best: high quality steel/iron shop jack. they're about the price of a good aluminum jack, but are much more sturdy and can fit under just about anything. you don't buy these at Sears or harbor freight....

I use 2 jacks for about $70 total. Little 2 ton get's under front toe hooks just fine. 21" SUV lift get's car higher for jack stand room. Side benefit I found is the little jack can then support tranny, control arms, etc. if needed.

Craftsman has two types of aluminum racing jacks. The full aluminum expensive one, that usually goes for $175-$200. But they also have a part aluminum and steel one that looks just like the full aluminum. Might be 5lbs heavier, you can get those for a little more than $100. For some reason they don't advertise the hybrid aluminum/steel one. My local sears did not even have one listed, but I got him to check in the back and he found one.

As for getting it from the front, I've tried diff jacks, and of the ones that make it under, they don't go high enuf for me to get jack stands in. So I'm still looking too.

If you go on sears.com I believe you can buy it online and then opt for in store pickup and they ship it to your store free of charge. I dont know if they do that anymore.

I just bought the all aluminum Craftsman jack today. It's pretty cool. $149.99 with my Craftsman Club discount.
It said in the instuctions to NEVER loosening the release by more than 1/2 turn. I didn't notice that until after I was messing around with it and I happened to loosen it by more than 1/2 turn.
Why do they put that warning on there? Does it just get air into the hydraulic lines or something? I did purge the cylinder like they said in the instructions.
I know it seems like something little, but I'm pretty anal about these kind of things. Anyone know?

I use a craftsman jack, fits easily with my 1.7" drop. I had the normal one break on me and was able to bring it back to sears and trade up to the heavy duty one, it feels much more sturdy than the normal jack
