do you guys own more than 1 floor jack?
I notice that tire shops often jack the car with 2 jacks, when they're doing something like rebalancing your rims and don't have the vehicle on a lift.
I got this Sears Craftsman 2 1/4 ton floor jack with 2 stands for $28 bucks 2 years ago, and now they have the same jack alone on sale for $19.99, so I ordered it online. With the 2 jack stands it's on sale for $39.99--holy moley, the stands are $10 each??? I'd rather have a jack for $20 instead! Look at that inflation, from $28 to $40 in 1 1/2 years, same item. China is no joke, their revaluing their currency.....
p.s. I think I've found nice points to jack the Maxima up. The fronts I agree with the forum, but the back I think I found a better spot based on the length of the arm of the floor jack. There's a spot that seems to be designed for it and is weight-bearing capable. That's where the garage does it anyway.....

I own.. hmmm, six jacks and.... five jackstands..
two are regular rolling floor jacks. one 3.5Ton Craftsman unit that I use for most stuff, and a smaller aluminum one that I take to the track. the rest are bottle jacks that I use when I'm doing random stuff like changing engine mounts and need to jack up the engine in 2 or 3 places to align the mounts.

Two jacks and four jackstands here. I need to get a bottle jack. That would've been nice for this tranny swap.

I'm not understanding why you guys would ever have more than four jackstands.

It is very simple Grasshopper. I already had 4 jackstands before I bought a new jack that came with 2 free jackstands.

One lift and two stands, though a second lift would make things like rotating wheels quicker.

How low? Even Sears offers racing jacks with like a 3" min. My trick is to take a compact (small) jack and raise from a front toehook or control arm. Then throw the big jack under the front center point.

I'm gonna have to look into that... my 2 1/4 ton jack can't get under to the front jack point... got Progress springs... didn't think they were that low... then again, its only about .5 of an inch that I need to get under there...

I don't see it as money wasted. The jack was normally over $100. It was on sale for $89 and you got the free jackstands with it. If I didn't have any use for the jackstands, I could have sold them and make the money that you believe was wasted. Don't know if you could get it separately or not.
