Lube Gard AT Protectant
Would you guys feel safe putting this stuff in your Tranny? They claim that their additive reduces operating temperature....

The short answer is "no".

I am generally not a believer in additives of any sort...additives change the chemistry of the fluid (engine oil, transmission oil, etc) you add it to, and you have no idea what the end result will be. Transmission fluids are formulated to meet certain performance parameters, including friction properties, and the additive will affect the formulation in an unknown way.

Use a high quality ATF that is labeled as meeting your OEM requirements.

The guys on bobistheoilguy.com seem to like it. I've used it with no problems. Ideally, though you shouldn't need additives.
