How long have 9E000 filters been made in China?

The batch I just got were made in China, but the previous batch not even 12 mos. ago were made in Japan. Should be just as good, right?

Napa Gold (Wix) is Made in USA. OEM filters are manufactured in India, China, Indonesia, soon we will hear it is made in Africa too...(all places under the sun except USA/Japan).

Napa Gold are one of the best filters for <$5 in the market (provided it is bought in a case of 12).

How about the Baldwin B1402? It says it's equivalent to the 15208-31U00? Is the 31U the older, bigger canister? Hard to remember that far back, I remember the 9E's are a lot smaller than the one that came with the car...

so if you're concerned about the cardboard endcaps, someone please post a getter filter close to the same price.

Wix or Pure-One to name two...both are very well constructed, they have metal end caps and are in the $6 price range.
