Would AMSOIL Synthetic ATF Benefit an old 1993 Maxima?

This car has used regular ATF it's entire life. AMSOIL claims that their fluid will lower the operating temperature of the tranny. I was thinking if I replaced the fluid fully with syn, this may extend the life of the tranny to decrease the amount of heat damage for it's remaining life.

Do you guys think this is a waste of money?

Car has 191,576 Miles on it. I recently replaced 4.55L of the regular ATF.

AMSOIL ATF is an excellent product and it performs very well in our applications. However, the fact remains that your car is 15 years old with nearly 200K on the clock. I don't believe you would experience any problems switching to AMSOIL if the transmission has been well maintained and is in otherwise good working order; but you have to ask yourself how much longer you intend to drive the car.

It's kind of like adopting a healthy lifestyle and beginning to take vitamins when you're 70 years old. It won't kill you, but how much is it going to prolong your life at that stage of the game?

Since the transmission already has close to 200K worth of wear on it, I would recommend you continue to service it regularly with petroleum ATF.
