Are generic hoses at Checkers OKAy as heater/coolant hoses?

Are the generic hoses they sell by the foot at CHECKER okay to use as coolant hoses?

I notice them being more soft when heated, relative to the OEM or radiator hoses. I've put some on as coolant hoses and seen some 'white' smoke, so I'm wondering if that is the reason. Do they puncture easily? Leak easily? It reads 50 PSI and for FUEL.
Is there a difference?
I tried to tighten it as hard as I can. Will it overtorque?

Thans
