oil level high

so i took the maxima to Nissan for an oil change and I let the car rest for 6 hours and then checked the oil. Its slightly higher than the H mark. I know overfill is bad but is this really considered dangerous to the engine? Can I continue driving around? I know Nissan always puts the proper amount of oil in cars so Im assuming its ok. But I always thought 4.25 quarts brings level between H and L and the only way to get to H is to add 5 quarts? Correct me if Im wrong

yeah, the same thing happened with my car when i took it to nissan.. i was worried about it as well, but i dont think its a big deal.. when i change mine, 4.25 quarts always takes it a little above the H mark.. and 5 quarts would take it way above, which i wouldnt even try.. just as long as it doesnt go above that little nub above the full line.. thats what i would consider too much.. thats just my 2 cents, but im not an expert.. if u wanna be absolutely sure, just let some out

You will be fine as long as you don't put in 5Q you will be fine. 4.25 - 4.5Q is not much off a difference, but 5Q is definetly an overfill..

I always change the Filter as well and usually 4 quarts even will take it to the Full mark on my VQ30. I also let it drain for 1+ hour until there is no more drip.

Next time, try only 4 quarts then top off from there if necessary.
