Mobil M1-105 oil filter

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the 105 filter as opposed to the 110 filter. I noticed that the gasket is a lot smaller and thinner on the 105 than on the 110 and i worry that it may leak oil if i put it on. However, on the sticky it says that its fine to use but doesn't address if the smaller gaskets will lead to future problems.

I've been using the 105 filters for over 2 years and haven't had a leak or problem yet.

M1-105 good to go!

Had been using the -110 and switched to -105 about 2500 miles ago.
No issues.
I DID notice that when I put it on for the first time, that I had to REALLY torque it down to get the seal to seat properly (dripping oil).
However, I later realized that all it needed to do was have a heat-cycle in it once to seat positively. Could be relevant to the smaller seal mentioned earlier.....
I imagine it's gonna be a ***** to get that thing off next time!
Too bad the dealer's gonna be doin' it for me!

Knock on wood - but since installing the -105 I haven't heard the dreaded VTC Grind on cold start....not once. Could it be a little more oil in the crank is a remedy for this malody?? hmmm - time will tell.
It DID take an additional 1/2 qt.+ of oil to bring the fill to "h" on the dipstick...that thing is a MONSTER compared to the -110.

Since I'm having the dealer monitor my oil consumption, I decided to switch back to the obviously more stock looking (sized) m-110 filter.
I didn't want to hear any crap about the engine grenading due to an oversized oil filter!!!

Oh I can just HEAR Nissan in all their wisdom passing THAT one onto me after 6+ months of putting-up with unecessary dealer visits and expensive oil changes!!!

At my last oil change (a few weeks ago) I used the 105 for the first time. I have always used the Nissan better filter before (9E000).

It did take more oil to get the dipstick to read full. I've had no problems with dripping oil from this filter and my garage floor is clean enough for me to quickly spot drips.

The reduction in construction quality in the Nissan filter got me to make this change -- and a sale price on the 105.
