what does tranny fluid look like?

hey i guess sorry for another post but i posted a thread about castrol gtx high mileage and regular gtx. i dont know if its oil thats leaking or tranny fluid. i checked the oil filter and its a purolator pure one filer. seems to fit on fine. new motor oil is suppose to look light brown right? i put a cardboard underneath my car and when it drips i check it and its dark oil. ive had a tranny leak for awhile but i never did anything about it. can someone verify this and tell me if its just the tranny leaking? or if theres a leak somewhere from the oil filter area/drain plug/any seals and other stuff like that. and i put in 5W30 castrol gtx high mileage. thanks

tranny fluid looks the same as regular motor oil (when both are new). However, used tranny oil is not as dark brown (nor as black) as used motor oil.
