I have been doing the same thing Looking for cheap Mobil 1 filter. The only places that sale cheap mobil 1 oil filter is ebay, they sell four filter for about 30.

Or you can buy Bosh... they're pretty much the same exact filter. But if you're going to order something online just get the OEM filters.

I would stay away from Bosch if possible. They are now made in Mexico and the construction is nowhere near what it was in the past when they came direct out of Germany.

Go with OEM or Mobil 1.

I would say Mobil 1 is a better filter. A little better at taking the contaminants out of your oil than the OEM.

Another alternative if you have a NAPA close by is the Napa Gold filters. Great construction and a solid filter with a silicone ADBV.

With all due respect, you guys are unfairly bashing Bosch. Some are made in Mexico, but all of the 3323s I've seen in my area are still US made, by Champ labs, and have exactly the same skeletal structure as the Mobil-1, Supertech, STP, Valuecraft, and K&N (yep, k&n). I say "skeletal structure" since there is a difference in the filter medium, at least in color between Mobil-1 and Bosch, and the ADBV is silicon (better) in the M-1, whereas it's nitrile rubber in the Bosch. You can decide for yourself whether the doubled price $10 or so vs. $5 or so for the Mobil is worth the money. But don't take my word for it, check out these pics. Those are filters in the VQ elongated configuration (elongated for my G35, std size for the I35 and I think Max too). The device in the foreground of the first pic is the pipe cutter I used to take 'em apart. As you can see, the M1 and Bosch are almost identical. What's left of a same-size Fram is on the right (it's can is absent since it was so flimsy it completely collapsed as I cut it and was in my judgment too much of a cutting danger to keep around).

Bosch is a perfectly acceptable alternative to M1, especially if cost is an issue, or if you're not pushing to long oil change intervals (when the rubber ADBV might fatigue and become an issue).

Funny you should ask. I'm stopping by my Infiniti store this afternoon, mostly to get some fresh wiper refills, but I had thought I'd get a filter to dissect too. I'm curious since I've heard that Nissan has itself gone the Fram route. I'll post 'em when I have 'em (est a few days).

Didn't mean to bash the Bosch filter but the Mobil 1 filter is still superior in many ways most important the medium giving Mobil 1 much better filtration of contaminants out of your oil.

That the garbage filter they put on! Get rid of it!

The 9E000 is much superior and a little bigger for better filtration. Or just use the Mobil 1 105 which is AWESOME!!

i wonder why they sell it them still? is it the same price? i get a discount like if i buy 3 i get the 4th one for free. i want to try the mobil oil filter. any recomendations on where to get it? or should i just stickwith the bigger filter from nissan?

the paper one 65F00 came on 01 - ** max
the nice one came on 95-00 max
anyways they all fit the VQ engine.

No part number. It's the M1-105. It states it right on the box. Autozone carries them.

Is it 105 or 108? Acording to Mobil site the right one is 108 for VQ35 Maximas. So which one is correct?

I just checked the Autozone website and the 3.5L takes the M1-108 filter.

yeah thats what i saw at work today, the 108 and 110 for the 3 liter. BTW you can get 5 quarts of mobil 1 and a mobil 1 filter for 29.95 on sale

The 105 and 110 are larger filters. If you look at the 108 it is fairly small. This reduces the amount of oil that can pass through the filter at a given time. I have used 110 before with no problem. If you compare the connecting surface, you will see they are the exact same size. Just the casing is bigger.

I understand that the connecting end is the same but is letting less oil into the filter any more efficient then using a bigger one? I guess I don't understand why you would use a bigger filter if the manufacturer is calling for a smaller one? Am I missing something?

Don't be fooled by the size of the casing...might very well be that both filters use the same element and they package them in different casings for clearance, etc. There could also be other subtle differences between the two filters, such as the calibration of the by-pass valve.

bit off topic but anyone know if the nissan OEM oil filter is supposed to have a loose gasket? I opened a new oem filter and you can spin the gasket around freely. I've never seen any other filter do this.
