Spreadsheet update and the removal of Bosch/STP/SuperTech filters as recommended....

New spreadsheet adds a handful of new vehicles and also includes and additional line of recommended oil filters in the oil filter worksheet section which are based on my observations and analysis results, etc.

As for the Bosch and STP and SuperTech filters no longer being recommended:

Due to an offshore production change in 2003, the bypass valves and overall paper media of these filters are made in a way to not allow proper oil filtration.

One prime example, the STP S6941, did have an accompanying price drop from $6.99 to $3.99. Unfortunately, there was a reason for such a drastic decrease in cost.

Is there a difference between the Bosch Premium and standard oil filters?

May be time to consider Wix filters

Since the selection is getting slimmer, we may want to add the Wix 51356 filter to the list of potential VQ30DE considerations. A guy recently posted a great set of photos for the Maxima cross-referenced filters to the Nissan 9E000 at the BIOG site, complete with a few measurements and specifications.

I started using the Wix on my car lately, primarily out of consideration for the silicon ADBV as the oem Nissan uses. Wix tech support emailed me that the 51356 filter's efficiency is nominally efficient (50%) at 18 microns and absolute efficient (95%) at 35 microns...which probably makes it as good or better than the 9E000 Nissan filter. Bill, I've got an extra one in the garage and can supplement some of the measurements for your spreadsheet if you'd like.
