Oil report: taken from a daily boosted, 265whp, 10psi, lean mixture VQ30DE-K

sometimes I wonder why can't I get out of this running-lean nightmare.

the sample is taken after 4 dyno runs and the car was pinging bad in 3 runs. Other than that, I boosted everyday until this dyno session (now I drive like a granny) and the highest EGT reading was about 830 celcius.

oil use : mobil 1 5w30 supersyn.

here we go, kids! I was kinda surprised when I see the result. oh~ they got a typo on the report. can you find it?

and my dyno runs (rich run vs lean run):

You used 4 quarts of makeup oil in 3100 miles :eek

Your iron wear is high for the mileage as well, but considering the boost, not surprising.

The oil also is probably starting to oxidize due to heat, which is why the viscosity is on the thicker side of a 30 wt. You might want to try an oil that is more heat resistant, or at least use the 10W-30 instead.

4 quarts is what he used on an oil change....I see enough reports to know people get confused between make-up oil and "consumed" oil when filling out the form.

Iron doesn't surprise me and I don't think it's a concern.

I don't believe a high 50s viscosity indicates anything until a subsequent analysis over the same interval indicates an increase. The reports haven't been consistent enough to really define a good trend.

about the iron: it can be from the SC internal or my chargerpipe (it is rusting because Kevin used to do water injection)

oh, btw....I also install an oil cooler after last report.

the viscosity reading is about the same since first report. so....am I running the car too hard since she was NA?

oops...I always thought make-up oil is how much I refill each time. :P

thx all for the analysis.
