How do I subscribe/unsubscribe to a thread and get email notifications?

When I'm subscribed to a thread, sometimes I receive an email notification for every reply. I understand that if you return and view the thread again, you will receive another notification if more replies to the thread occur.

Problem is that even if I totally ignore a thread and stop reading/visiting it alltogether, sometimes I'll continue get email notifications for every reply. This is especially bothersome for the worthless and stupid threads.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

You have to unsubscribe. Go to your User Control Panel. At the top of the first page, you should see a list of the threads to which you subscribed and corresponding unsubscribe links.
