Okay guys i'm a little freaked out right now. I went to this guy who has done remote starts on my cars for years. Long story short he put one on my '09 and i now have a Intelligent Key indicator light on my dash and now a check engine light. The Key light only comes on when the car is in drive or reverse and not neutral or Park. The check engine light is just on. What do you guys think could be the possible cause of this.

The thing is i'm in france and i had to fly out the thursday and i pick the car up that wednesday so he wont be able to look at it until i get back. I already know I cant take it to the dealer i was just wondering if anyone had any insight. The way he told me he wired the starter is to the computer and he had to take the dash off. Like if i started the car and the light switches is on Auto the headlights will not come on. the only way they will come on is when i press the button to turn the actually car on when i get in to drive off. Is it possible that the nissan Fob is conflicting with the starter. he also told me he was unable to hook the signal up to the factory fob so i could not start it from the factory fob like i had in my '02 maxima. Is that even possible to do now?

Just some please give me some info to keep my mind at ease while i'm away on Vacation.

Stillen rear sway bar - Worth the upgrade?

Hi all,

I currently own a 09' sport+tech Maxima and I'm debating whether the Stillen rear sway bar is worth the upgrade. From my conversation with a Stillen rep, the upgraded bar is only 1mm greater in diameter (21mm vs. 22mm) but does have a thicker side wall (increasing rigidity).

Those who have gone ahead with this upgrade, do you think it improves handling enough to recommended the purchase?

Thanks,
TB.

So far I noticed 2 things that bug me. The first one is that the front and rear window of the car don't have the nissan stamp in the corner of the window as if it was replaced aftermarket. Last trip i took to the dealer i looked at the other maxima's on the lot and it is like this for all the new maxima's. The second thing is that the rear wheel well has some kind of fabric material lining in it instead of what is in the front wheel well the usual plastic. It's rather annoying because dirt and leafs get stuck to it.

At least I made out better than the deer! Probably did over $4K damage. She hit the front passenger side corner. Need new bumper, grille, hood, headlight lens, possibly whole assembly, right front fender, and that was pushed back and damaged the edge of the front passenger door.

I am so depressed. Now I have to find a good body shop. I just worry to much about this car. I took a back road to avoid route 78, and the flying stones from all the truck traffic and I end up hitting a deer. :bawling:

Sounds like a sead or nut falling off a tree and hitting the car. It happens once in awhile and can be with the car off or sitting at a light with the radio off.

My wife and I were in the north Georgia mountains for a wedding just over a week ago, and as we headed back south, we heard a strange rustling noise. We couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from. Finally, we pulled off the road, and began checking every inch of the car.

It turned out several dried leaves had fallen on the rear window, then slid down and were completely out of sight between the bottom of the rear window and the top part of the trunk. We hadn't even realized that hidden niche was there. We took the leaves out, and found we were once more riding in a smooth, quiet sports/luxury sedan. Life was good again.

Replacement Window Motor Already

Ok so my car has about 18000 miles on it roughly and today was a pretty nice day out and I decided to roll down my windows. The only one that was working was the drivers side and the auto up/down feature stopped working though. I couldn't find out what was wrong with the other windows so I tried doing the reset and it did not work. After a few attempts I got the auto up and down to work on the drivers side window only to see that mid way down the window stopped moving and when I tried to auto roll up/down the window would not move. I have been having multiple problems with this car so I said screw it and took it to the dealership. Found out that the passenger side and the two back windows were not going down because the window lock was on, lol (can't believe I didn't think of that. When the service guy went to show me how to reset the windows the drivers side window acted up again and stopped mid way and wouldn't move until you let it sit for about a minute. The service guy came to the conclusion that the motor needs to be replaced because it is intermittently overheating causing the motor to stop working until it cools off. I can't believe that I need a new motor after 18000 miles. Anyone else have this problem?

I was looking to do this before the show hit and just take a day and detail the car in and out but I've never cleaned under the hood before. Anyone have any ideas on how to go about doing this and what product(s) to use?

Thank You guys.
