I found a 2002 SE, cloth seats, lights, cruise, windows, and a/c all work. The tires will need to be replaced within the next 4 months. It has 174k miles. Clean body, interior and engine bay. Paint still glossy with only one visible door ding. It does have the oil gasket leak problem though. The condition of the car is pretty good. Tags are good and the title is clean.
I would like to know what everyone thinks it is worth?
Here is a pic of the vehicle.

[Zips up flamesuit -- this may be perceived as noobish]

So, my car is throwing the codes P0140 & P0160 (B1S2 & B2S2 High Voltage Monitoring) and I have headers and a dual output O2 sim hooked up.

And I'm wondering, is this a fault in the connection of the O2 sim (I hooked up the wiring according to posts on the .Org, so maybe a loose ground), or my other concern is that the car was throwing P0140/P0160 before the headers/sim install, so maybe the signal coming off of an already faulty O2 sensor cannot be adjusted by the simulator to keep my SES off?

Also, the car seems to be idling rather rich on cold starts and leaning out at idle when it's warm, which I don't really remember it doing.

When it was cold it used to idle ~14.0 AFR, now it is around 13.0. There hasn't been very much climate variation lately either.

When the engine is warmed up it used to idle around ~15.0 AFR, sometimes it goes past 15.5+ now.

Since my SES is on and it's throwing these codes I fear that it is actually affecting closed loop operation.

However, these are supposed to be rear O2 sensors, so maybe my primaries are fouled?

If anyone has some ideas or insight on the O2 sim/secondary O2 sensor operation, please post your thoughts.

Thanks Maxima.org,

Moncef

UTEC Installed

I finished installing my UTEC recently and figured I ought to share my install tactic and sheets in case anyone else wants to try it. I started out...

I finished installing my UTEC recently and figured I ought to share my install tactic and sheets in case anyone else wants to try it. I started out labeling all the required connections from the UTEC. In all I think I had 20 or so connections to the UTEC (20 in and 20 out).

After I got a connector, courtesy of surraTT (great connector, BTW) I wired up the portion that will connect from the stock ECU to the UTEC. I soldered all the connections and wrapped them in heat shrink wrap.

Then I cut the connector from an old ECU I had, stripped it down to just the pins, and soldered every single connection from the new "harness" to the old connector, also soldered the wires that will be coming into the connector from the UTEC

(i cut the pins down a little from there)

and ended up here after soldering in my wideband to this harness:

I have put the UTEC in the car and so far I know that it will work on map 0 (stock) and it sort of works on the turboXS base map for z's.

Issues:
I am currently trying to work out a breaking up problem and a super rich off-throttle situations. When I go full throttle in the turboxs map, the car will accelerate from low RPM to about 3000RPM, but after that its like a soft limiter or a 2-step kicks in, its really weird. I have the #1 pin on the connector grounded so I dont think thats problem. Also the car accelerates fine in the ("0") stock map or any unchanged map. Any thoughts? Im going to make sure my parameters are 100% right before I get into more serious diagnosing.

Another thing is a really strange problem. It happens in every map. When I let off the gas and let the engine brake, as soon as the revs drop to approx. 1750RPM or lower I start getting a lot of popping and backfires out the exhaust. It smells like the car is going VERY rich and that is the cause of the backfiring, but I dont really understand why the UTEC would cause me to go super lean. I have taken the UTEC out and confirmed it doesnt do this with only the stock harness and ECU. Any thoughts on this part either?

I get a weird knocking, clicking sound when going over bumps. It only happens when I'm accelerating over bumps, or when I shift hard from 1st to 2nd. Does not happen when I drive normal over bumps. It sounds like its coming from the front right wheel area?

Best Describe Noise: The noise that it makes when you start wheel-hopping?

For what it' worth:
-02 Maxima 6spd. w/HLSD
-Hotshot Headers/Stock Cat/Cattman Cat-Back

Anyone have any idea? I was thinking maybe motor mounts, sway bar bushings, or end links? I really do not want to hear it may be axles. Also could it be exhaust hitting frame (I doubt this one though)

Thanks for any inputs

I am supposed to get a kenwood double din touchscreen installed this weekend but they told me they cant get a mounting kit for it. They said they have one for non-bose but apparently its different if you have bose...

Anybody know which kit will work and where I can buy one
Thanks

P.S. - I know this could go in the audio electronics section but this issue is generation specific so I think I will get a better response in 5g area.

Ok so here we go...I went and picked up this tranny that I found and it had 38k miles on it, so came back and swapped the tranny out, the process went very smooth just the hard part is getting the tranny back up to the motor, (anything like this is hard when you do it with regular jacks and in a apartment parking lot!) I also used the torque converter that came with the tranny, So we get everything bolted back up and wouldnt crank, so lastnight we looked at all the sensors and everything, we sanded down the ground because it was a little rusted, by this time its now 5:00am so we took it in for the night, so i wake up this morning and go back out there and i wanted to scan for codes to see if it was pulling one, I scanned it and got the P0335, which is Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction, so i took the sensor out which is the sensor where the tranny and motor connect, i cleaned it off because it had dirt on the magnetic strip on the tip of it and placed it back in, took the starter out and put it back in, tried to crank and still the same thing, just turning over and turning over and no crank. Its getting gas because I can smell it and i checked all my fuses, sensor plugs, just about everything and now im sitting here like what do i do next...so i said maybe the Crankshaft sensor went bad so I went to Advanced and bought one ($92) came back just a few mintues ago , put it in and it did the exact same thing! Im just about on the verge of F it but I feel like its something very simple thats all..Orgers please help here!!!!
